Think it's a short drive from north to south? Think again! What looks like a short road trip from the north to the south via the islands mid-section actually takes several hours. We found this true also going from Ponce to Fajardo. Many of the roads are very narrow and winding and going is slow. It is a great way to see the diverse areas of the islands though, so just plan your time accordingly.

great taxi driver! Hey all, Two months ago I landed in Puerto Rico after 5 hours delay in my flight. It was all raining, I was tired and all I wanted was to get to my hotel and unpack my stuff. I went out of the departing area and got myself a taxi. The taxi driver spoke fluently English because he used to live in the US. His name is Henry. When I got to the hotel, I started unloading my stuff off Henry's taxi the hotel manager told me that they didn't reserve me a room (you can read the whole story in Aleli by the beach review). I got panic. It was raining ago. I didn't know where to go. I was hungry and angry. Henry saw my frustration and offered to help. He helped me find an available hotel (casa del caribe), which was cheaper and was great for my needs. The ride from the airport to Ocean Park costs 15 dollars. Henry was super kind and didn't charge me for the extra ride. If you want Henry's number I would be much happy to give it to u, because he deserves it. He is very nice guy.
