Blue Lagoon Blue Lagoon was suppose to be a "big deal". Articles claim you can see to the bottom of the Blue Lagoon, and it was a "must visit" place. My son and I swam in the Blue Lagoon, and didn't like it. The water is very cold, very deep, and you couldn't see more than a few inches under the water. It was actually creepy to swim in. We also thought the water looked oily, like it was polluted. I talked to the locals, and didn't find any of them had swam in the Blue Lagoon!!! I think only the tourists do. There used to be a restaurant that was overlooking the Blue Lagoon. The restaurant is now shut down, and all that is left is the wood planks that used to be the floor. It is an abandoned restaurant. We couldn't wait to get out of the water.
