General Tips Rick cafe is great for music, sunsets, and drinks. But the food was lousy. Don't eat there. Eat at Rock house, or Ltu, or Xtabi, and lots of others, but not Ricks. Sunset beach was a great lobster dinner on the beach and good reggae music on certain nights. Margaritaville has the best margaritas on the beach, and good reggae some nights. Every time a Jamaican wants to sell you somthing chop the price in half to start your bargaining .

We loved the West End! If you don't need to be ON the beach, the West End was wonderful for us. Hotels on cliffs provide gorgeous views of the Caribbean Sea. The neighborhood is much calmer than the beach strip which is more "touristy" in a seedy, busy way. We ate authentic Jamaican cuisine every night in local restaurants that we walked to from our hotel. The beach was a quick walk/cab ride away.
