Cheap eats Eating at the horel can be very expensive. Within walking distance there is Juicy Beef and island grill with specializes in Jamaican food. Then there is KFC, Wendys, Burger King.

Getting from the airport Only one way to get from the airport. Take JUTA the licensed carrier. They are safe and trust if you leave something in the cab you will get it back just how you left it.

Be very careful New Kingston is just about safe in the day time due to the number of people and the amount of armed police everywhere but once it gets dark it is not safe unless you know exactly where you are going and are preferably not alone. My advice would be to find yourslef a Juta taxi driver and use them everytime you want to go anywhere even for a short distance. The costs add up but the risk of getting mugged especially if you are carry a laptop bag is not worth takiing. The locaks i work with alos mentioned the chance of getting mugged significantly increase in December towards Christmas. The rest of the city is not worth thinking about.
