I have recently booked and have taken a vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. As in the past I have always consulted / followed the rating of the accommodations and have picked a 4 star rated resort. To claim the Allegro Occidental Flamenco Resort a 4 star resort is a gross overstatement. In the past we have stayed at Sandals and Couples resort IE: 4 star rating with great satisfaction the Occidental Flamenco in Punta Cana is not even close. To say exactly why it is not a 4 star it is hard to say, the loud air conditioner, or the bugs in the food, or the endless supply of hot dogs and sardines for lunch, I'm not sure. I think it was the 2 day stay in the ICU at Mercy Hospital that prompted this email. My wife and did appreciate the first class upgrade on the return flight. Please re-consider recommending this resort to future patrons.
