Good Points: Food was fine, beach and ocean nice for swimming/strolling, all staff were nice, English level-reception/bar=good,elsewhere fair to poor,
hotel well maintained,
(older sections however can smell musty, two newer sections fine)
BUT; hotel does not own its water sports equip.! Subcontracted to a company all along playa dorada. Allegro has access to 1 (one) sunfish sailboat, apparently (1) windsurfer and these along with local snorkelling and para-sailing are NOT available at all on Sunday (surprise!)
no breeze in morning means sailing useless, stiff breeze in late afternoon means no sailing and windurfing only for experienced.
Playa Dorada snorkelling=waste of time, water not clear and absolutely nothing to see anyway-they'll readily admit there are no fish to see at all here.
Personally I also felt just a tad "nickled and dimed" by (minimal) charges for pool table and tennis. For a 4-star "all inclusive" hotel shouldn't these be included?
