I recommend this resort ONLY if you want to have fun. If you want a relaxing week to read a book, don't go to a resort called "FUN" It had to be the best priced resort of the year. Well under 1000.00 only because it is not right on the beach. The beach bar was fantastic!
Selling time sahre...all you say is no thanks, and that is it. They will be pleasant to you the rest of the week. When you see them they treat you like they know you.
My fave part, (besides all the booze you can drink)are the cats. I always took my leftovers to them. (on the sly, cause your not supposed to)
I wonder if all my bartenders will remember how to make "Yellow Bird" Because, even the grandmother will return every year now! Planning my next trip as I type.

Staff from last year remembered us which was so lovely, Daniel the Barman, Rico and Saffy the dancers. They were so welcoming and happy to see us back! This year we spent more time laughing and dancing with the animation team: Jonny, Domingo, Jose, Andrei and Pikachu. We've booked up for 2006 and can't wait to catch up with them. We couldn't fault any of the staff they were always happy to help.
The food was good and we loved the fresh fruit and salad. Get up early to book the Italian and Brazilian restaurants, it is worth it!
The shows were great, get round early to guarantee a seat. The guys are great dancers, Anthony got a standing ovation, maybe that was for his 16 pack though! The shows are not Broadway efforts but get with it an enjoy, you are on holiday afterall. I did the club dance every night. Its good exercise and a bit of a giggle! The only problem with the shows was the kids running wild despite the staff asking parents to keep their kids away from the stage and the changing rooms. This is the fault of parents, not staff. Parents please keep an eye on your kids!!
The rooms are cleaned daily, we tipped the cleaners at the end of the holiday. Some people tipped daily but you get clean towels every day regardless.
It rained for two afternoons and one full day. The rainy day activities are limited, but the same can be said about any sunshine resort. We just played bingo, darts, did some dancing and chatted to the boys, not bad for a rainy day!
As this is a hotel and resort for couples and families in the evenings after the show the place cleared out, even the 24 hour bar wasn't that busy most nights. We just jumped in the free taxis to Roadway and Hemingways each night. Friday night in Roadway was amazing. Mangu on the Saturday was even better. The music is mainly latin music, merengue, bachata, salsa but R&B was played a lot too. Sean Paul and Shakira were never off the turntables. The Dominican men are a bit naughty when they dance, if you don't like it say no. We loved the music and the dancing and the Dominican way. The men in the Dominican Republic can dance unlike most men from the British Isles. A group of Irish lads staying at our hotel tried to dance with some local girls but the locals couldn't move for laughing. I did try to help with their moves but they were having none of it. Take part in the dance lessons at the hotel, the staff can show you what to do. Otherwise get yourself to Mangu and see how the locals do it!!
For those looking for a romantic break or a 5 star hotel for 3 star prices don't come here. For families and couples wanting to have a good time this is definitely the hotel for you. For singles, ladies can have loads of fun if you are happy to love the music and dancing; for the boys, there are not hundreds of single ladies waiting for your attention but there are lots of daytime activities for you to enjoy, give the dancing and the music a chance and you never know what will happen.

Excellent Resort - 5 stars are not enough!
from A TripAdvisor MemberExceptional value, excellent food at all times of the day (I highly recommend the all-inclusive package), great drinks. The specialty restaurants on site are outstanding - the Italian and the Brazilian.
Hard to say which one was better - both were excellent. The staff put on shows that can be seen by the entire family. I specifically loved the lunch served at lunch at the beach. The grounds are kept clean and tidy at all times and staff are more than happy to help you. I visited the resort with 2 small children - staff was always willing to help, entertain. Plan on taking the boat trip out to Sosua for the day - totally worth it (see the Tour desk). I'm already planning the trip back for 2004! Thanks Fun!
Vwery Relaxing
from Pevil4Nothing Great
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe air conditioner leeked water everywhere and the door latches did not lock. Once this was all settled we ended up getting a room transfer to a balcony suite. The food was horrible, my girlfriend got sick after 2 days and myself, who rarely gets sick almost survived the entire week. You'll noticed if they have a special one day (ie Fish), the next day you will have fish soup or something weird they'd do with the left overs. Entertainment was just ok, however the attractions at the other resorts were better. I recommend Crazymoon or the karokee bar for a good time. The Beach was awful, there was coral everywhere and water wasn't clear blue. If youre expecting an inexpensive getaway this is the spot for you, nothing great, just ok.

trips out ocean worls is great do one of the experiences we did the dolphins, and the jeep safari is lots of fun also tha cable car
GET TAXI FROM AIRPRT TO HOTEL Dont use the coach service provided by the tour company to get you from the aiport to the hotel. Get a Taxi at the airport- prices are clearly displayed , really cheap ,and faster. You'll be by the bar having a drink then the coach you would have been on will turn up an hour later.
Must Do's Must go up the mountain on the cable car. You must take a drive and walk hrough the city. You absolutely MUST take a taxi by motorcycle..little scary at first but one of the highlights of my trip.
