Terrible Service and Food.

I been to a lot of excellent hotels in Dr. The Azurro's service is the worst, the food is not fresh, the rooms smell bad, old towels, the rooms are very small, no mirrors in the rooms, the toilets and tubs don't have water pressure. All the amenities they mentioned they have are not true. They only have one Italian Restaurant and the others they were never open. The same pasta they serve at the buffet they also have it at the famous Italian Restaurant. The staff is very pleasant, but the hotel really needs some renovation. We paid a lot of money for this vacation and really there are other hotels in the area with better service and less money.
Only soda is included in the minibar. The alcohol that is served at the bars is very cheap. The snack bar served old food.

I hope not to offend anyone with this review, but people should be careful when purchasing all this inclusive deals.
 

Top Local Tips for Puerto Plata

Be quick When arriving at the airport grab your lugaage quickly as there will be several people there to take you luggage to the bus, they will require a tip if you don't tip you may not get your luggage, better off to take it yourself. Be firm when saying No thankyou.

Fabulous beach If you are going to the north coast of Dominican Republic for a beach holiday, forget about Playa Dorada and certainly Sosua which has a tiny over-crowded beach. Superb seemingly endless beach at Cabarete which is clean and uncrowded. Huge amount of watersports available including the relatively new kite-surfing. Supposed to be one of 10 best beaches for wind-surfing.

French restaurant Try the great french restaurant at the far east end (not west) of the beach. Slightly more expensive but still cheap and the food and service is great!
