| STAY AWAY! UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET MALARIA |
| Me and my partner of 14 years decided to go back to the Dominican Republic, this time we wanted to explore the north coast, we did some searches on gay site, and found the site of Hotel Arcos, we found it a bit pricey , but compared with US standards we hoped to treat ourselves. What a Disappointment, not only the room had leaks, the pillows smell putrid, the staff was never to be seen, mind you , not taken care of other patrons as we where the only ones there....
We decided to leave the next day, but the "Executive Suite " we paid in advance could not be reimbursed back to us. Horrible, just because its gay does not mean that it has to be a good hotel is all that we can tell you, when we got back I started to have a feverish sense all over my body, and my partner thought that I should have it check, as we had lunch in Hotel Arcos the first and last time, after some blood test they discovered that I had malaria, something that can be treated... at least we can here in the US, all the poor people we saw there in the proximity of the Hotel .... Begging and you just don't feel comfortable.
We are the lucky ones as we could move/and afford somewhere else, but if you want something special this place is not it. |
