Stayed here 4 nights May 14-18, 2004. Read many reviews on this and other hotels. I think we picked the best. Room and beds were excellent. Service at breakfast buffet was a little slow at times but who is in a hurry? Food was good quality and lots of variety. While in Havana we looked inside many other hotels and each time we were pleased that we chose this hotel.
There is no better location in Havana. Right on the border of old havana and Centro. Steps away from the Capatilio, Floradita Bar, and Obispo Street. Great view overlooking Cenral Parque. The concierge was not much help if you did not want to book a governement tour. His answers were not correct with regards to shows, bands, or market openings. Check in and check out was smooth and service at the bar friendly and attentive. The roof top pool was an oasis and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of a big city. Great view of the Prada from the pool deck. I would return to this hotel.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. Seems to be the only place in Cuba where they know how to mix a cocktail. The rooftop pool is just stunning, overlooking the old town.

If I had to deduct marks, it would be for the occasional slow service, and the bun-fight at breakfast. But after two weeks in other parts of Cuba, its like a 10 star hotel. Make it your last stop in Cuba if flying out of Havana.

Have stayed at this hotel several times. One of the best in Cuba. The rooms are one of if not the best of any hotel in Cuba. Bathrooms are splendid. The lobby and the bar are excellent and the roof top pool very private and comfortable. The Dutch stews always stay there and usually sun bath at the pool, always an added bonus. The staff very professional and often remember your name after a short time there.

Well worth the money and much better than the Melia Cohiba. Situated at Central Park (Parque Central) and near some very nice sights, Habana Vieja, Edificio Capitolio, Partagas Cigar Factory, La Floridita for the best Daiquiri's in the world, only if the older man in the red jkt with all the medals makes it NO ONE ELSE!

Why only 4 out 5?! Well in the list of favourite hotels in Cuba on this site only one hotel beats it - Paradisus Rio de Oro in Guardalavaca which is where my wife and I stayed prior to coming to Havana. As a result any hotel would struggle to compare. Plus we were disappointed with the breakfast buffet again maybe because we had been spoiled at the resort. Other than this the Parque Central is an excellent hotel.
Beautifully furnished with excellent restaurants, an excellent lobby bar serving wonderful cocktails and the star attraction the rooftop pool. This feature in particular endeared us to the hotel as it enabled us to escape the hustle & bustle of the city and pretend we were back at our resort. There are incredible views from the roof also. We had considered getting a simpler, cheaper hotel whilst in Havana but are so glad we didn't. The city is fascinating but we were a bit surprised at how much you get hassled by people in the street (we'd previously been to Holguin in the east and not had the same problems). So if you want to enjoy the excellent city of Havana but also take time out to enjoy the fact you are in the caribbean and relax then you want to stay in this hotel.

The Parque Central is a very good hotel in central Havana. Though the surrounding streets are busy the rooms are double glazed and very quiet. Very good rooms, decent size well looked after and serviced. The food is good. A varied buffet breakfast, good bar snacks in the lobby and the Paseo Restaurant, which has an unfair reputation of being expensive is very good. Staff are efficient and helpful the only mild exception being the off-hand receptionist who checked me out. The tour office in the lobby has very good helpful staff. We didn't use it but it has a roof top pool which has good views over the city and would be a good place to relax in the afternoon after a morning's walk around the city.

The lobby of this hotel is really worth a visit, a stunning inner patio and colonial style interiors. Also the cocktails served in the lobby are perfect after a day of city tours. All the main attractions are nearby. The best feature of the hotel would be the roof top swimming pool. I had a wonderful time, with a cocktail in one hand and a Cuban cigar in my other hand, enjoying the sunset.

The Parque Central is one of the nicest hotels I have every stayed at.
The rooms were great. Had a stunning view of the Capitolio at sunset.
The location could not be better and the amenities equal to 5 star hotels in the states. Stay the the Parque Central and then have lunch on the terrace or go to a concert at the Nacional.

BTW, the food is pretty uniformly awful anywhere in Cuba other than places like La Guarida. However, the full buffet breakfasts (including wonderful made to order omlets) are fabulous at Parque Central as is the hamburgers in the lobby bar.

We stayed in the Parque Central in February 2004 and I can say with my hand on my heart that it is the best hotel I have ever been in, anywhere! Our room was perfect with a balcony onto the bustling street below. The food was world class and the cocktails delicious. The hotel's public areas were luxury itself while the location is right in the centre of the lively Old City. Special thanks to Eldis and the rest of the staff who made our stay most memorable. We can't wait to go back!

Started our two week holiday in Cuba here. It was great. The hotel was lovely and clean and definately one of the best in Havana. The roof top pool was fab and the views amazing. Had really good cocktails and the staff were friendly. Even managed to see Fidel Castro who visited the hotel briefly to see a VIP! Havana is a great place and we meet a local who showed us around, didn't hassle us and turned out to be a very nice person but you have to be careful as lots if people were hassling us. definately take lots of one dollars, tip freely and enjoy the relaxation. Went to Varadero after, not a patch on Havana, although the beaches were great. Would definately return to Havana.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Parque Central in mid January. I can not say enough good things about this hotel and our stay there.
From the location, the food, the hotel staff and service, everything was top notch and I have to say the best hotel that we have ever stayed at. The buffet breakfast was especially nice and the views from the top floor pool were picture post card. The hotel provided a great location to walk around the Capitolio area, a short 5 minute walk to the oldest part of Havana, or a $5 dollar cab ride to the trendy Miramar district.
If I new I was going back in the near future, I would not be saying that the hotel has a very good cigar shop and lounge that provides brands and types of cigars not easily found elsewhere including MonteCristo #2's, H. Upman Connoisseur No. 1's, Romeo & Julieta Exhibicion No. 4's. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet. The Cuban people were very nice and worked hard to please. I would strongly recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable stay to visit a great city.
