My wife and I were very pleased with the Kohly Hotel. Although modest, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable and English language TV reception good. With the exception of the food, our stay there was excellent. The food in the main dining room was not too appetizing. Except for breakfast, we ate most of our meals at other restaurants or hotels, mainly in central Havana. I should note though, that I found much of the food in Cuba to be very bland. As I mentioned earlier, we tried to limit our eating at the hotel to just breakfast as not too much damage can be done to custom cooked eggs and fresh fruit. I also liked the coffee. The food in the 24-hour cafe next to the pool is somewhat better.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Not too many of the staff speak English but they all try to be helpful. Also, keep in mind that this is a budget hotel. Friends have paid much, much more for their hotel and not received much better. The power in the hotel went out on two occasions, but came back on literally in 2 seconds. Additionally, we always had plenty of hot water.

The hotel is too far for most people to walk to the old part of Havana. However, a taxi only cost between 6 and 8 Cuban Coverto Pesos.

We would recommend this hotel to all of our friends who want a budget priced hotel in Havana. When we return to Havana, we will stay once again at the Kohly.

Kohly is located at some distance from the centre and a taxi is recommended when you visit central Havana. The rooms are acceptable and not more.
The food is LOUSY and the personnel can best be described as lacking most of the service feeling they should possess. Mainly because of the really very bad food in this hotel, you should try to find alternative lodgings when in Havana.
