The food is LOUSY and the personnel can best be described as lacking most of the service feeling they should possess. Mainly because of the really very bad food in this hotel, you should try to find alternative lodgings when in Havana.

Top Local Tips for Havana
Check out the Guajilito restaurant in Havana This is the best kept secret in Havana, the Guajilito restaurant is not an" official"l restaurant in Havana. It's privately owned and run by a family there. I was lucky enough to get this tip from a tour guide who recommended this place for the great food at great prices and the excellent service. It's cleaner and has a wonderful atmosphere (the waitresses were all very pretty and courteous)the food was fresh and delicious and came in very generous portions. They even gave us a bread basket with dipping olive oil included which is never seen in Havana restaurants at that price!! The restaurant is located near the Capitol and the train station. Ask someone at one of the main hotels to guide you there since they all seem to know where it is and also recommend it.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Not too many of the staff speak English but they all try to be helpful. Also, keep in mind that this is a budget hotel. Friends have paid much, much more for their hotel and not received much better. The power in the hotel went out on two occasions, but came back on literally in 2 seconds. Additionally, we always had plenty of hot water.
The hotel is too far for most people to walk to the old part of Havana. However, a taxi only cost between 6 and 8 Cuban Coverto Pesos.
We would recommend this hotel to all of our friends who want a budget priced hotel in Havana. When we return to Havana, we will stay once again at the Kohly.
