Fab hotel, rude staff

The bungalows are lovely and the grounds of the hotel are great. Some of the staff can be very rude and we were told while we were there that the hotel is a state hotel for Cubans. We were only B&B and the breakfast was fine. The Italian restaurant was OK. Didn't use the free bus service as taxi to Old Havana was only £3.50. Would definetly go back to Havana and may even stay at the Comodorro again. To be honest apart from showering and sleeping didn't spend any time there anyway.

Tips Always carry 1 cuc coins or notes - always someone wanting a tip!

Transport Taxis are cheap enough but make sure they are legal taxis, if not, you could find yourself in trouble. All legal taxis have blue number plates.

La Roca restuarant This was a superbe xperience. La Roca isa quirky 1930's art deco building - the walls are stained glass. It's elegant with black tie service, yet you could get a basic meal at incredibly low prices. A salad and spaghett, plus a very good bottle of wine only cost us 14 CUC. When we wnt at lunchtinme, the clientele was almost entirely habaneros. There are some more pricey fancy dishes and it's probably more touristy in the evenings. Make sure to have a drink in the bar too.
