Just returned from Beach Club Colony in Grand Cayman. Beachfront was beautiful. Rooms clean. was an all-inclusive resort, listed buffets. Got there - not one buffet offered. Limited menu for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was good, lunch and dinner - three choices. Stale hot dog buns and desserts. Absolutely no amenities in the room, i.e., no iron, hairdryer, clock, in-room safe. No one to help with bags, had to lug up steps ourselves. Hotel would not cash traveler's checks. Had to ask each day for shampoo and soap. Television had horrible sound and no remote control. Place was clean, but terribly run down. Wait staff was nice, but one of the front desk girls was rude and had to be interruped from her long personal calls to get any attention. Would not allow us to make an international call, said the machine was broken. The evening girl said there was not even a machine needed and was able to help us.
If you are going just for a beautiful beach, this may be the place. If you are looking for comfort
and even minimal amenities, look elsewhere. Have traveled extensively and was VERY UNHAPPY with this place.
