A great Vacation
from A TripAdvisor Memberbetter then expected
from A TripAdvisor MemberWould go again, thats a difficult question. The problem isn't Club Landor but the island itself, its so expensive for everyday things and with a service charge of 15-20% tacked on to everything things get pricey... the market wanted $10 for a bottle of advil... dinner for 2 every night was at least $70, not we are used to spending that kind of money at home but it was just OK sometimes and once we had dinner at 5 Twins in the Atlantis... what a rip-off, the ambiance was great but for $130.00 without drinks that sucks...
it's not 5 stars and it's not a resort, it is a place to relax and enjoy the time off from work... that's why we went and that is what we got...
P.S. there is a $19/day/person charge, for what i have no idea, and its outrageous, but we knew about it before hand.
s cheaper to stay at Atlantis
from A TripAdvisor MemberEmployees and other vacationers make it worth the stay- not the rooms!!
from A TripAdvisor MemberTerrible value for the money...but nice people
from A TripAdvisor MemberOK trade if you aren't expecting a whole lot, but for Goodness Sake, do not purchase a timeshare here! Maintenance fees are ridiculous and increase signigicantly every year (over $800), plus there are the special assessments of between $400 abd $500 that are charged at least every couple of years, plus there is the refurbishing fee of $289 charged every five years, plus they charge you $950 to transfer the resort to another owner...about NINE times more than other resorts charge. Top this off with a $19 per day, per person charge during your stay and Club Land'or quickly becomes zero value for your money.
Our Second Home!
from A TripAdvisor Membernot the best place to stay
from A TripAdvisor MemberAlthough we were told we could use anything at Atlantis, that was not true. We tried to go in the pool and got pulled out because we did not have wristbands on. We were allowed to use their beach and eat at their restaurants and that was about it. We were unaware of the surcharge and had to pay over $200 at the end of our stay. Although the hotel tries to put together activities, they are pretty lame and boring to boot. If you are just looking for a place to rest your head at night, then I suppose Club Land'Or is Ok.
Excellent location, decent room - what more do you want?
from mhfromboiseWe had a fantastic trip! Club Land'Or was fine. The room was clean and comfortable - we did not see any ants or other bugs, and trust me - my wife would have noticed. The pool area was always clean and the staff was friendly. The condo activities were fun, if a little hokey.
Club Land'Or is certainly not a luxury resort, but the location is excellent. The beach is easy to reach through Atlantis. Staying at Club Land'Or allows you to access the beach through Atlantis and to use of the Atlantis beach chairs, but not to use the slides and pools at Atlantis. We enjoyed walking around Atlantis at night, even though we didn't gamble. We were even able to walk through all the aquariums and the Dig without paying extra, although perhaps we were just lucky.
Getting into the city was easy via taxi, water taxi, or even walking across the bridge.
For the total price we paid, including fees and taxes, we could not have been happier with the accomodations. It was a perfect base for our vacation. We really didn't care that the room wasn't fancy because we didn't spend much time there. It was also nice to be able to cook some meals in the condo. Even factoring in the high price of groceries, we saved a quite a bit of money by eating several meals at the condo (money that we then spent on other activities and a great meal at Compass Point).
We only ate one meal at the restaurant at Club Land'Or and we found it to be fine, but nothing special. We would definitely stay at Club Land'Or again if the opportunity were to arise.
The People Love To Party
from A TripAdvisor Membertraveled I read the reviews and shared the reviews with the people who
traveled with us. People are right the rooms are small and the
televisions are not large screen and the bathrooms are small and the
air conditioners can be a little noisy at times.
But what the hell the staff and the atmosphere is far greater than
anyplace that I have traveled in the caribbean. Al, Dr. Phil , Tony and
Avarado know how to make you feel welcome and get everone feeling like
it's a holiday.
So if your going to the Bahamas to party this is the spot if your going for style and plush accomidations then can I suggest Cap Julica it will only run you around a thousand per night and that will leave you with the sense that a stuffy old expensive holiday is still just that. Club Landor the spot to have fun.
Complete crap hole dont stay here
from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Paradise Island
Ask before you get there We learned the hard way that you need to negotiate (or at least ask) how much a cab fare will be before you get to your location. We travelled to one location a few times, and each time were charged something different ($10, $15, and $17). Chances are if you ask before you arrive, your cost will be lower than if you wait until you are at your destination (with us - the $10 trip is the one we asked first on).
Shopping on Paradise Island I recommend taking the water taxi to Nassau to experience everything there including the Straw Market, but there is also lots of great shopping and restaurants on Paradise Island. We especially enjoyed Parrot Cove Bar and Grill and some of the smaller, touristy shops around it. The shopping and restaurants in Marina Village are very nice, but also very pricey. We found a smaller straw market across the street from Marina Village that was much less cramped and crowded than the big Straw Market in Nassau and it had much better prices than the shops in Marina Village. We bought most of our gifts for family and friends in that smaller straw market. There is also a nice internet access business in the strip mall across from Marina Village. Our room at Land'Or had internet access, but we didn't bring a computer, so we found this internet cafe very helpful.
YOU MUST PAY AN 18% GRATUITY ON EVERYTHING--- MANDITORY!!! No one evertold us we had to pay an 18% gratuity on every food or beverage purchase while there- even if they dont wait on you (which they wont)!
