Top Local Tips for Nassau

Quiet town! Nassau tends to die nightlife wise once the cruise ships leave and the day trippers retreat to their complexes. Even the Hard Rock closed at 9.50pm the sunday we arrived! And that was meant to be the late night venue. Be prepared for great long beach days but an early night. Fine when you get used to it. Us Brits are used to late night partying - not here!

Non-touristy beaches If you're not into sitting around with a hoarde of other tourists on the beach, then Fort Montague is a quite local beach as are a couple a bit further on (which you will need a car to get to). They aren't groomed like the tourist beaches, so expect a bit of seaweed and the like, but you can pretty much guarantee to be on your own.

Turn right! If you turn right out of the hotel, you can head towards Montague beach and the National Trust Retreat. I recommend both of these and much preferred doing this rather than being a standard tourist in the plastic Paradise Island and Nassau old town.
