Top Local Tips for Nassau

Senor Frogs- overrated The "Yard" Drinks are $17 and have about a teaspoon of liquor in them. They were so sweet that they made me sick. The food was pretty good though, but save the drinks for the little bar next door.

Rent but stay away from Thrifty/Dollar I highly recommend renting a car, taxis are not adequately regulated and you are likely to get overcharged and taken advantage of. However if renting a vehicle book it on line and stay away from Thrifty/Dollar, neither their vehicles nor their managerial staff are acceptable. We tried three of their vehicles before we switched to Budget.

Take the bus Cabs are overpriced, although prices are regulated by the government. But there are unscrupulous cabbies who will overcharge naive tourists. The bus system is great - all the buses are privately owned and there are tons of them, there's a bus along main routes once every ten minutes or so. And the fare is only a dollar!
