Best Trip Ever!

from d75angel
This was my 3rd visit to Aruba and couldn't resist booking this past stay at Paradera Apts after reading the reviews and seeing the price! I don't see myself staying anywhere else in Aruba. I enjoyed the quiet and privacy of the hotel. A rental car is a must and the island is safe to explore. I can't wait to go back!

A jewel on the island

from Duchess42
This was our seventh trip to Aruba and our first time at Paradera Park Apartments. We chose it because of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed.

The apartments are located in a quiet neighborhood within easy driving distances of town and beaches. The property is an absolute jewel. The landscaping in the deck and pool area rivals the luxury of the big hotels (photos don't do it justice). The pool is sparkling and inviting.

Even though the property was fully booked we never saw more than two other guests using the pool at the same time. We enjoyed the pool area every bit as much as we have enjoyed the pools at the larger resorts.

The owners are lovely people who clearly want their guests to be comfortable. At check-in we were offered a beverage. (There's nothing like being met with a cold Balashi to make one feel welcomed.) There was ice in our fridge and a pitcher of cold water as well.

The rooms are very nice indeed. Our studio had everything we needed for our stay: fridge, microwave, stove top, toaster oven, and all the pots and pans, dishes and utensils one would require. It was Christmas season and we were delighted to see a little Christmas tree on our bureau. Later in the week we came home to find a Christmas newsletter with information on locations for Christmas brunch etc. as well as a long puff pastry filled with apple that was scrumptious. Debbie said it was a traditional holiday treat. We thought our entire stay was a treat and we would not hesitate to book their again.

A Tropical Oassi It Is

from jazzmanTexasOnTheRun
What a wonderful experience we had during our stay (12/3 - 12/10). The room (studio) we had was plenty big enough for my wife and I. The rooms are clean and extremely well kept with plenty of cooking essentials included. In fact when we cooked in one night , my wife asked me to see if they had a salad spinner in the room...they actually did and I was amused but not surprised. How about WiFi included also...see what you will have to pay at a high rise hotel for that to be included. As for the grounds, it truly is a tropical oasis that was even more special with all the Xmas decorations. Although the facility is not on the beach, with the chairs and cooler they provide, you can go to any beach as they are all public. The bottom line is, if your looking for a clean facility at an affordable cost.....look no further than Paradera Park.

AMAZING.... Loooved Paradera Park

from JoeyPP
I've recently had the pleasure of staying at Paradera Park Apartements... and what a pleasure it was!
Every time I walked the property I was in awe... the tropical garden is beautiful and peaceful ( actually peaceful would be the best used adjective to describe the entire experience), the pool magnificent and the hospitality inviting.
It was the perfect get away for my husband and I, and I can honestly recommend it to anyone looking for tranquility and beauty.
We will certainly visit Paradera Park Apartments again.

a perfect place

This was our first trip to Aruba. The Paradera Park Apartments is a perfect oasis from the bustle of the high rise hotels. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Debbie and Henk are charming and most helpful. The location is a natural starting point for all island activities. Our vacation was easy and carefree...a very relaxing week! Thank you Aruba and especially Debbie and Henk!

Paradera Park is Great for the Traveler on a Budget

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I just returned last week from an eight night stay in Aruba at Paradera Park Apartments. We booked at Paradera Park solely on reviews from this website, and we're glad to say that everyone has given a fair review of the place.

I will begin by saying this - if you have Ritz Carlton taste in rooms, Paradera Park is not for you. Its apartments are small, especially the showers, but you do not go to Aruba to sit in your room! The grounds are beautiful and the plants are exquisite! The rooms are kept immacuatley clean by the housekeeper (who we felt deserved much more than the $25 tip we left her). Debbie and Hank (the owners) are wonderful! They are willing to give directions, make reservations, give reccomendations and just chat if that's what you're looking for. They also have the cutest dog, Jamie, (that I will admit we fed Saltine's to) and cat that wander the grounds and keep their guests company.

Paradera Park is a fabulous place to stay in Aruba if you're on a budget. It's close to everything - nothing is further than a 10-15 minute drive. My husband and I really took advantage of all the beaches and restaurants all over Aruba - we weren't stuck in just one area. The car rental place, Value Rental Car, was very reliable - especially when our Jeep broke down (because we went off-roading). Upon our call to them, they immediatley delivered us another car - no questions asked!

A few things we did were the Tattoo Party Boat, which was fun, but they didn't give you a lot of food and the Midishi Snorkel trip - it was $35 per person, including an open bar, with only 15 people on the boat - much better than the larger snorkel trips. Drinks and food are very expensive in Aruba, but that's because everything is imported to the island. We had fabulous food every night! Arubans are also very friendly - we had no problems with negativity towards us as Americans.

Overall, Aruba is a wonderful vacation spot and Paradera Park is well worth the affordable price. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants a luxiouious vacation without paying an expensive price!

Aruba Average, Paradera Above Average, Red Sail Dinner Cruise Excellent

from cdanny
Just returned from Aruba last night and sadly I am back to work. Aruba was an interesting experience. Even though there income relies heavy on tourism, the people there are not very friendly. 70% of their visitors are from the US and 60% of those are from the east coast. I don’t know if that had to do with anything, but nobody seems to go above and beyond, they barely meet average IMHO.

My SO and I arrived on Thursday afternoon expecting a VALUE rental car rep to be there to drive us to their office to get the rental car. The paradera park apts (more on this later) website kind of refers this company and even though we could have gotten a rental elsewhere, cheaper we went with this for ease of processing. No rep was there and we took a cab (20 bucks). Once we arrived at Paradera, Debbie inquired about the rental car and he came right over to pick us up. Note: Everything in Aruba is no more than about 15 mins. The manager at Value gave us a small discount because of the inconvenience.

Once back at Paradera, we were able to unpack and enjoy the hotel for a few moments. The actually grounds of Paradera are beautiful. There is a nice size swimming pool that was never packed. There are beautiful trees and plants everywhere. Hammocks to relax in as well as lawn chairs. Thank God for free wireless internet. I think this is a plus and draws many professionals to this location. The rooms were ok. Although by no means a luxury room (small room, tiny shower), they were sufficient and thoroughly clean throughout our stay. A large soaking tub would have worked wonders. The air condition was slightly on the fritz and the noise was unbearable. I am a light sleeper so I woke up many times during the night and turned the air off, and dealt with the heat just so I wouldn’t have to hear that noise.

We participated in several activities while in Aruba. Most of the activities I reserved online in advance. If you book in advance you receive 10-15% discounts so there is really no need for the Aruba Value card others are advertising. The first night was probably the best night. We booked a sunset cruise dinner with Red Sail (99 bucks each). I later found other cruises for much cheaper, but I was very happy with the Red Sail. We met lovely couples from all over, the food was good, the open bar was flowing, and a great time was had. The next day we ran into some operators on the beach and parasailed. Afterwards we laid out on the beach some and went to eat at the flying fishbone restaurant. While the restaurant was very beautiful and more so romantic. The service (as everywhere in Aruba) could have been better. The prices were also very high for small portions. The following day we took a Jeep Safari tour across the island of Aruba. The favorite spot was probably the natural pool where we snorkeled and swam around. We did the half a day and it was more than enough. The entire day would have been way to long, and they could have saved the Ostrich tour. Following the tour we quickly went back to the room to shower and ran over to meet our 2pm spa appt at Spa de Sol. We got the mini sol which was just OK. The massage was excellent, but the other services needed work. The manicure I received and the pedicure my SO received was the worst ever. I tried not to be too picky b/c we were on vacation and I didn’t want to complain a lot, so I let the technician continue with the horrible manicure and polish job and took the polish off when I got home. The final night in Aruba we went to Madam Jeanette since it was so highly recommended. It was excellent with great service and a large quantity.

The food in Aruba is very expensive and the people don’t barter like other places. I remember a few years back in Cancun when you could basically set your prices for whatever you wanted, or you could tip the bartender really good and you were hooked up for the remainder of your stay. I know I’ve said it above, but the people were not very friendly

All in all we had a good time. Aruba is not the spot for crazy parties or a cater-to- me-I’m on vacation type of service. I may return next year for the Soul Beach Music Festival or maybe try the St Lucia jazz festival. It was a nice inexpensive (due to extensive research) time and a welcome break from home life and work.

Excellent Value!

from Marina
We can only agree with the rest of the reviewers here: Paradera Park is an excellent choice if you plan to vacation in Aruba!

The complex is very well kept, with a beautiful little tropical garden, pool and, your own private terrace. Debby and Henk were very helpful and patient, even when our 10-year old son and Jamie-the-beagle made plastic confetti out of the pool noodle (we bought a new one...)

The big hotel chains/casinos are only 10 minutes away by car and there is no problem to use their beaches and services even if you are not a resident.

Our recommendation would be to rent a jeep as this will give you a chance to explore the wild "other side" of Aruba. We especially enjoyed the bumpy ride to the "natural pool"...as exciting as any roller coaster ride you've ever been to....and the swim in the "pool" is a fantastic reward (don't forget your snorkel gear)

All in all, this was a great vacation in a great place and Paradera Park definitely deserves a big "5" and two thumbs up.

Nice stay at Paradera Park Apartments

from JimmyW25
My girlfriend and I recently returned from a one week stay at the Paradera Park Apartments. This place is a very relaxing place, away from all of the hustle and bustle but not far away from any activity that you would want to do. Renting a car while staying here is a must though. You can include one as part of your stay here. They use a company called Value rent a car which is @ 10 minutes away but they pick you up and take you back to the airport, similar to Enterprise. This part of our trip was the only part that was a little below average. The vehicles that we got were both a little on the "used" side. The horn on the compact we had didn't work and the exterior was kind of roughed up and the car would stall while ideling at times. On the Jeep we rented, the drivers seat belt wouldn't always come out and the headlights would turn off when I hit a bump, unless I held the light switch while driving. Debbie and Henk are very wonderful people. They made our stay very enjoyable, from the initial greeting with a Balashi beer (local brew) when we arrived to setting up activities for us to getting us where we wanted to go. We also loved their dog Jamie who would sneak into our room if I left the door open to our apartment, so she could be petted. They have a beautiful garden area to relax by the pool. Henk has a green thumb and keeps the plants and flowers blooming. The cleaning woman (her name was pronounced "lettuce") was also very nice, doing an excellent job cleaning our room every day. We both recommend this place very highly, especially if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, away from it all. It is a very clean and safe environment. If and when we go back to Aruba, we would most certainly stay here. If you would like to contact me with any questions regarding here, please feel free to email me.

Paradera is a great value on Aruba

from A TripAdvisor Member
Paradera Park Apartments is a wonderful getaway retreat in Aruba! The courtyard and pool area are lush and inviting; there are nice sitting areas to relax, and the apartment we stayed in was comfortable and nicely equipped. A car rental is a must, since all the major attractions require a car from Paradera, but the Apartment proprieters made the rental arrangements for us, as well as arranging for transport to and from the airport. The combined cost of the apartment and car rental was far less than room alone at the major resorts.

An added plus if you have children: there is a nice outdoor playground and exercise facility within 1/2 mile of the Apartments. Our children (ages 2 and 5) loved to play there with the Aruban boys and girls.

We loved our all-too short stay in Aruba. Paradera Park Apartments played a big part in our enjoyment, making us feel at home and welcome.
