The resort was nice and modern. The staff were hospitable in all areas from reception, restaurant, karaoke to massage areas. The hotel also has tennis courts and a swimming pool which is rarely found elsewhere on the island. The hotel also held 'disco's on the weekend however the music played was from a c.d and not very good.

Top Local Tips for Phu Quoc

Avoid August High Season The Island is at it’s best in the November to March period. Sunny skies and consistent temperatures of 77 - 82 degrees (25 - 28 Celsius) make it a good time to be here. Eden Bar and Palm Tree restaurants open on Long Beach. All the tours and dive operators go out daily, weather permitting. Rainbow Bar and Carol build a crowd early and late most fine evenings. On the negative side prices are high and the island becomes more congested. You may have to hunt further a field for private beach experiences. Many of the most popular hotels and resorts are heavily booked long in advance. Shoulder Season May - June and Sept - Oct can be good with less crowds, cheaper prices and reasonable odds of of good weather. Low Season The late July to early September is the time to avoid for most Monsoon seasons can be very wet and wild. Under prolonged deluges the red dirt roads turn to slippery sludge and roads become inpassable. You can get lucky of course and this time of year is still great for those newly in love and mad Englishmen. Bring wet weather gear and ski goggles. You may get lucky with some sun or become very familiar with the bargain half price winter massage at Sasco Blue Lagoon. Ultimate wildcard holiday.

a must see island this place seems like it hasn't been discovered yet. The roads are mostly dirt, there are no big chain American hotels there yet and everything seems very authentic Vietnam. The people are SO nice and won't try to rip you off. The tiny islands around Phu Quoc are pictuesque and can be seen for about $17 on an all day snorkel trip. Book through the people on the beach, not through your hotel. Rent a motorcycle from the locals and explore this fabulous island. Be very careful on the dirt roads though!
