Fantastic new hotel in Hue

from kaido34
Outstanding. The service, rooms and buffett breakfast were all amazing. We found the value for money at Camellia the best we experienced in Vietnam an would happily reccommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Hue.

Camellia and service go hand in hand

from steve837
Chose Camellia from tripadvisor after finding the orchid fully booked. Gave them a call and everything was smooth sailin from the getgo.

The service, especially from everyone at the front desk was excellent. The room was very clean, new and stylish -- oh and very quiet! Booked a deluxe with a great view on the eight floor for 65$ -- was more than i wanted to spend but in the end worth every penny.

They've got a great view from the open terrace restaurant on the roof, and the included buffet breakfast was very extensive and very satisfying.

about 10 minute walk to the river and about 5 minutes from the japanese restaurant mentioned in lonely planet(good sushi by the way)

Booked tickets and tours through them and had no trouble cancelling when my girlfriend got sick; they were simply helpful in every respect.

would stay again in a heartbeat.

After seeing the many reviews here, I booked this hotel pre-cruise.

We were extremely impressed by the location, friendliness of the staff, quality of the room, and the breakfast as well.

We arrived late and the staff had everything ready for us. The room was elegant and large. The washroom clean and tidy. In room safe. Breakfast was great as well. Free internet in the lobby. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Highly highly recommended. Worth any reasonable cost.

Incredible Hotel - Best Place to Relax

from thienlt
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Rooms are lovely. They do differ in size. We had a larger room with a nice bathroom with tub. . Each and every person we met had a smile and were outstanding employees. The main restaurant is excellent. The menu varied and the employees memorable. I look forward to returning to this gem. If you get a chance to visit, take it! Come and see. Incredible!!!

It was a suddenly discover on my trip about this hotel. During my 2 days and nights stayed there, I was enjoyed the new atmosphere and the care from a excellence well trained staffs. All I can said that during my whole trip, stayed at Camelia Hotel was my most memorable experience. Of course, I will visit this hotel everytime if I have a chance to go to Hue again.

Best Hotel in Vietnam

from amySydney
This hotel exceeds expectations .We have stayed at 4 hotels this holiday, all listed 4 star at varying prices . This being the second most expensive . The Camellia far exceeded the rest in service ,quality of accommodation (has only been open for 2 months) the standard of food was amazing . We ended up having breakfast , lunch and dinner in the hotel as the fare was so outstanding and very reasonably priced by hotel standards. I can't stress how good the service was, whether it was at the travel desk, the poolside , housekeeping ,reception or restaurant . It is also child friendly. I'd like to come back just to stay in this top quality hotel again.

Great experience for money paid

from RabFace
When we got to Hue we went on the advice of the DK guide to one of the budget hotels recommended. Please do not listen to any advice given in that book or even buy it. We decided to go else where and found the Camellia Hotel. From the start the staff were incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. We were given a lovely room at a discounted price of $50 from $110. It had a lovely view of the city, a lovely bathroom and the decor in the room was really nice, with all mod cons and satallite tv. There is also a very small but nice pool. Hue is hot and very close, so it was nice to be able to have the pool there to use.

They also have a massage parlour below, which was nice, but I think more for the boys because the girls wear very short skirts and you can see their pants at times!

The breakfast at the hotel was really tasty with a range of fresh fruit and cooked foods, western and asian style.

Definately go there in Hue.

Wonderfull hotel - best experience in Vietnam

from linleyblenheimNZ
What a terrific hotel. We stayed for three nights. Staff very well trained - very attentive and knowlegeable. Rooms spotless. Breakfast excellent. A choice of traditional vietnamese food to very good Western food. Eggs bacon grilled tomatoes - pastries , fruit, cereal - the lot. The thing that really impressed was that we left some luggage behind, and they hotel staff took it upon themselves to forward the luggage with the same bus company we had used to Da Nang. When we alighted from the bus we were greeted with the news that the luggage would follow the next day. Just amazing. We really recommend this hotel. It was within walking distance to the river and has just opened up a new massage facility. I had a massage and it was very good. Thumbs up to all at the hotel.

New gem with great service

from chezkelly
We stayed here in end-Apr, about 3 weeks after the hotel started operation. This hotel is managed by the same management as the highly rated Orchid Hotel, but at a higher 4-star standard. We paid USD 51 for a city-view double with breakfast.

The staff were eager to please, very welcoming and helpful with information. There are about 6 terminals of free internet at the lobby. The room is standard size, very clean, beautifully decorated and comes with a balcony. Beds are comfortable, shower has good pressure. Breakfast is an excellent spread at the rooftop (indoor and outdoor), from local cuisine to western fare, including a variety of cheese, bread, pastries and desserts. Don't miss the noodle soup and rice pancake stations.

Being a new hotel, there were minor glitches. For example, one of the lifts were not working, the cable TV was down for a few hours, the pool was not filled yet. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the hotel, which is centrally located at a relatively quiet street.

This hotel is amazing!!! We stayed only 1 night but had a great stay. Had only opened 3 weeks prior so very very new!! Marble bathrooms and comfy king-size bed with magnificent pillows! Phong Anh(staff member) was so helpful and spoke English very well. 10/10

Top Local Tips for Hue

Beware the cyclo drivers Dont take directions from cyclo drivers. We turned down the offer of a ride but asked where the entrance to the Citadel was. We were directed to a secondary entrance. Then miraculously reappeared when we were hopelessly lost. We gave in and accepted a lift to the main entrance. These guys will try anything.

Attractions If you book attractions through agenices you have to be aware that you will pay for say for the trip itself, like a boat trip to see various pagodas and temples etc, gut the amount you pay will not include payments to get into the attractctions or a guide. These will be extra. You will also get hassled a lot by locals wanting to rent you a motorbike. They are very persistant. One thing you must do is go to Bach Ma National Park. It is about and hours drive outside of Hue. You will have to hire a driver for about 50$, but it is worth it. The National Park is absolutely stunning and the 5 Lakes Walk will take you through rianforest leading you to various spectacular pools and waterfalls, especially one whcih is over 300 meters in height. We didn't have the chance to stay in the Park, but if you can I definately would. The guest houses are all converted French Colonial buildings with amazing views. Well worth it.
