Lovely Hoi An Ancient Town

Lovely Hoi An Ancient Town, Central Vietnam

I am writing about the Phoung Nam Hotel in Hoi An. Upon our arrival here I knew this was a special place. I'm speaking about the whole town of course but, more specifically, the hotel where we stayed for 5 days. The staff were more than welcoming everytime we walked through the doors ! They catered to our every need with smiles and helpful information about trips around Hoi An and good places to eat... they even took us down to the waterfront the first evening to help us get oriented. The rooms are spacious and clean and well appointed, with all the amenities of a pricey hotel at unbelievable prices !!! Hoi An has probobly the best value for your dollar anywhere in the world when it comes to accommodation ! I'm not kidding ! And the Phuong Nam is no exception. The staff showed us a great place to get clothes made while in Hoi An, also the best place in the world for Tailored clothing... they can copy anything from a book or your description. The name is Vu Thu Cloth Shop on 299 Nguyen Duy Hieu Street... we came away with new wardrobes of high quality Tailored clothes at a fraction of the price we would have paid at home... incredible Viet Nam ! Phuong Nam will not disappoint you.... reliable and friendly staff.

I will recommend this place to all my friends and certainly stay here again when we return next year !!

I'm a business man from HCMcity, I wento Hoi An for a holiday because I had a lot of Stress from wosking.
Hoi An is a beautiful Place where one can see the old architecture of Vietnam.
After I stayed for 5 day I felt many good things'
All of staffs are very nice & Kind To everyone. I was really.
Pleased to stay in Phuong Nam Hotel.
Next time If I go to Hoi An. for sure I will choose Phuong Nam Hotel again.

The Phuong Nam hotel is an excellent hotel, just a few kilometres out of central Hoi An, it provides a free shuttle service in and out of town and to the nearby beach. The hotel is pleasant, clean and offers comfortable air conditioned rooms. It is an excellent hotel at a modest price, very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of central Hoi An.

We are travelling with a seven year old boy and the staff have gone out of their way to make us all feel at home in the hotel. They have gone out o their way to assisst us in any way possible.

we would reccomend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Hoi An.

This is a great place to stay. The hotel is just out of the old centre but there is a free shuttle into town whenever you want it. We were met off the bus from Hue and taken to the hotel. Very clean rooms and very helpful staff. Nice breakfast and nothing was too much trouble.

This hotel and its staff are really great. We stayed four nights with them, longer than we orginally planned. The hotel is quiet, clean, and very well designed. The staff is quite helpful, attentive, and imaginative. The hotel's free shuttle is like having your very own taxi on demand service. Overall our stay was an excellent experience. We would be pleased to stay with them again.

Phoung Nam Hotel is a gem in Hoi An. Beautiful hotel located in a serene setting, with staff who are eager to serve and generous with their smiles. It has been a wonderful stay in Hoi An for us!

We stayed four nights in this clean and friendly hotel.
We liked especially the atmosphere and the nice new rooms.
The staff was very helpfull and we felt like in a big family.
A great beach is 10 minutes away by bicycle.
We often used the free minibus to town.
(Besides: The breakfast coffee there is better than the coffee in town.)

My son and I stayed at the Phuong Nam Hotel (which was booked through Expedia) for three nights and could not have been more happier with it.

The hotel is in a quiet location about a two minute drive from town and the hotel provides an excellant and free car service. Our room was spacious, modern and very clean.

The staff are amazing - very welcoming and were more than happy to help with booking trips and flights. In fact I can't remember ever staying in such a friendly hotel!

hi, i.m a french woman living in the south of france< I stopped in Hoi An in a nice hotel called Phuong Nam< The people who takes care of this place are so charming and they care very much about your desires.the place is neat, the room is decorated in a good taste in Chinese style< It's quite comfortable and Clean. Make sure to come over to this hotel when you pass by Hoi An, A warm welcome will be given to you< On top of that, the price is great, you'll make the best deal of your life.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my whole life. I was treated like family and my stay was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I work in the travel business myself and I would not hesitate to send customers to this hotel because I felt so good there that I think you should go and see for yourselves as soon as possible!

Top Local Tips for Hoi An

travel light Bring only basic clothing needs and make this one your first stops in Viet Nam. The clothing and shoes are ridculously cheap and these people can copy or tailor anything perfectly.

Misguided Cabbie We flew into Danang and then grabbed a cab to Hoi An....we drove through several small villages along the way but not before our driver called his dispatcher to ask for directions to a major hotel we had hoped would have room for us....they didn't but another hotel did but this driver could not find it even after stopping and asking for directions 3-4 times....the hotel had offered to come pick us up at the first hotel but we declined---that was a mistake....a few days later we took a cab to Danang and discovered a well paved 4 lane highway, one that the previous cabbie must not have known about(thankfully we were on a fixed rate with him)....TIP is to make arrangements through your host hotel for airport pick-up...because we had no hotel, we got stuck with a directionally challenged driver who was nice enough but didn't know his way....in every other city we flew into, we had a cab waiting to meet us.

Do not go during Jun -- July Always bring an umbrella and a pair of sunglasses when out. Lots of tissue and wet wipes help as the weather is also extremely humid at this time, with no trees and cool air.
