Tailors in the Ancient City In the Ancient City is where most of the tailors reside so you can get some clothes made while sightseeing. Its nice to do this to because only push bikes are allowed so it gives you a break from avoiding getting hit by motorcycles.

A Time Capsule in Vietnam Hoi An seems to have escaped the ravages of 20th century wars in Vietnam. It's been carefully and as far as I can tell faithfully restored, and although it's now something of a Disneyland and tourist magnet, there are no high-rises, many of the restaurants are excellent, even the souvenirs are often worth buying. And without us tourists, what would it be ? I was there about 15 years ago and I can tell you - it'd be a concrete wasteland like most of Vietnam, the old houses which were almost derelict then would have been swept away.
