Yaly Couture This is one of the better tailors. They have 4 stores and the best on is at 47 Nguyen Thai Hoc St, Hoi Anh. They do good work and can copy anything. Their fabric range is not extensive so take some with you or at least take a piece of clothing that fits well so they can copy it for you. If you have bumps and curves, don't rush through the fitting because a well fitted outfit needs time for the tailor to get the fit right.

Shopping in Hoi An Haggle on everything purchased from stores or the street. If done politely, its almost never inappropriate. As a rough guide, if a shirt is quoted at 40,000VND then you should get it for around 20,000VND by having an opening bid of 10,000VND. Obviously it depends on what you are purchasing, but the vietnamese way of retail trading is nothing like in western countries. Also, dont be surprised that there are different prices for locals and tourists.

Elegant - Thanh Lich 148 Tran Phu Street, Hoi An Town - 50m from Japanese Bridge We bestowed the name "Rosie" to this shop owner - she was a very outgoing, friendly, cheeky lady who made me some lovely shirts and dresses - I paid US$7 per long sleeve, $6 for short sleeve and about $13 for each dress. I was very happy with everything I got here and if I had have had more time would have got some more dresses made up. My boyfriend was not as happy with his clothes so I can only recommend this for female shoppers. The quality of my shirts was almost as good as A Dong, who charge around $27 for a shirt in American cotton.
