Excellent Hotel

I just returned from 6 days at the Sheraton Saigon and was very impressed with all the service. From room service to laundry, they were top notch. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. If you are planning a trip to Saigon, there is nothing better than touring and shopping and then having the Sheraton Saigon to go back to!!! It was perfect in every way and I would say it is the best hotel in Saigon. If they offer it, get breakfast included with your room rate. I didn't do that and although it wasn't very much ($18) a day, they probably offer a package I didn't see.
If you have planned to stay at the Sheraton on your trip to Saigon, look forward to it because you have chosen a great hotel!

Fabulous Pool!

Make sure you book a couple of nights in Ho Chi Minh at the new Sheraton Towers Hotel (preferably through your airline or on the net for good deals). The pool area on the 5th floor is fabulous and the restaurant on the 23rd floor is absolutely fantastic and not too expensive (if your sick of spring rolls go the fantastic Australian steak, about $15AUD). The breakfast was without doubt the best we had in 3 weeks travelling in Vietnam and the shopping nearby is really good--forget Hoi An and Hanoi!!
Breakthrough Service

Every one of the high expectations we had for this hotel were realized. Our room on the Executive Level was spacious, beautifully decorated, extremely clean, and had a breath-taking view of the city.
The real show stopper, however, was the breakthrough service we received. Here’s an example:
We have a particular interest in local, handmade musical instruments. We were frustrated at being unable to locate sources in Ho Chi Minh City. We mentioned it to the guys in the Executive Lounge. They made some calls, located a high-quality maker, called him to be sure he was open, and obtained prices. They wrote down all the information, and off I went in a taxi to his shop. I purchased two beautiful instruments. When I returned and showed them what I=d gotten, they noticed that I had not received the picks and accessories that usually accompany them. Within 30 minutes, they somehow retrieved them from the shop and gave them to me. Amazing. The problem then became shipping the instruments home. It was a Sunday and we were leaving at 5 am on Monday. One of the lobby bell staff arranged (with no small effort) for a Sunday pick-up by DHL and he (and later one of the managers) stayed with me during the entire painful process of arranging and paying for the shipping.
Sorry to go on about this, and sorry for the delay in the posting (we just joined TA). Hopefully this extraordinary level of service still pertains.
We recommend this property highly and without condition.

Spotty Service

The Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers boasts that it is the best business hotel in Vietnam. The facilities indeed are good, we had a 2 day business conference in the hotel and the meeting rooms were adequate and well staffed.
However, I was unhappy with the concierge and the bellboys who were outside the hotel. Part of the orientation given us by our Vietnamese hosts was that the best taxi to get would be the Vina Taxi -- and never ride the Saigon Tourist taxis waiting in the hotel driveway. And yes, the bellboys and even the concierge always tried to get us to ride the Saigon Tourist taxi -- we did, once and the driver never used his meter and charged us 30,000 for what was normally a 12,000 taxi ride.
I think that since hotel guests are already paying Sheraton Saigon top dollar (USD165 per night) for accommodations, we are entitled to be protected from these types of tricksters. After all, they are parked right there, on the hotel driveway and to get a different taxicab, you have to walk out into the street as invariably, the Sheraton bellboys will flag down this rogue taxicab for you.
Perhaps Sheraton should pay its staff better so they don't have to rely on commissions from Saigon Tourist taxis.

Hi, I visited HCM back in April. The weather was a bit hot. I started a habit of visiting 4 and 5 star hotels for afternoon tea. They offer a great refuge from the heat and xe moto fumes. My favorite was New World with Park Hyatt a close second. The Sheraton was my least favorite. New World invites you into a beautiful world of shops and incredibly beautiful interior decoration. The tea buffets at all places were quite yummy.
Sheraton Security made it clear that I was not to wander away from the restaurant area. Of course this should offer some ease of mind to Sheraton guests that the hotel is closely watched. I read in the local paper that HCM now has a shortage of 5 star rooms due to huge demand from business and govt travellers. Maybe Sheraton feels no need to welcome people since they have more business than they can handle?

One of the best in Ho Chi Minh

My wife and I stayed at Sheraton for 3 days. We booked through asiarooms. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a room in exective floor at no additional charge in which we can access the lounge for breakfast, tea and wine. In my last day, we checked out at 5:00am. To my surprise, the hotel already arranged for us a breakfast box. Though the breakfast was not as good as that served in the restaurant, we felt so touching.

I recently returned from a long trip to SE Asia and spent 4 nights at the HCMC Sheraton in early February.
The hotel is in a safe area close to the river and has several nice restaurants within walking distance. It has a beautiful lobby area and a very friendly staff.
My room was on a club floor and it was large with a small bathroom. Club rooms are on the top floors and allowed access to the club lounge for 'happy hour', breakfast, and free wireless (internet access in your room is an additional charge). The A/C worked great and the room was clean and well maintained.
The hotel has a great fitness center (weights, machines, treadmills, etc.), a lap pool, and a beautiful day spa.
Overall I found this to be a nice hotel, just not as impressive as other 5 star properties I have seen in Vietnam.

Hotel - Loved It

My father & I stayed at the Sheraton Saigon during our tour of Vietnam last week. It was the best! I've traveled around the world, and this hotel ranks up there as one of the best. We were greeted at the bustling HCM airport by a delightful driver, a brand new Mercedes with cold waters & fresh, cool towels. What a welcome after a LONG trip from the US to Vietnam. The service never stopped. The room was very spacious, beautiful views, comfortable beds, great bathroom (incredible water pressure with side jets & a great shower head. LOVED IT - what a great way to start our trip!) The concierge helped with lost luggage - above & beyond. Loved the spa (got one of the best massages of my life) nice gym, EXCELLENT food. And a super location. Can't say enough good about Sheraton Saigon.

We are the team from Malaysia and Singapore recently visited your hotel for a national conference. Everyone of us are so impressed with your services and facilities provided during our trip. It's an excellent 5 stars accommodation experience that I ever had in most of the cities I visited. People are polite, kind, and helpful. Besides, the food the served were great for all of us. We were talking about our experiece when we were home to KL, and most of us agreed that Sheraton Saigon would be our 1st choice if to visit HCM again in the future. And I strongly recommend it to others, its a must, to visit your hotel. Thank you...

A Great Hotel

We just came back from Vietnam after staying at the Sheraton Saigon for almost three weeks. Sheraton is one of the best hotel to stay at. The location is close to many tourist's attractions. We have two children ages 10 and 9, and they loved the pool even though it was not heated. The room is very clean. Maid service comes by twice a day. There is two free bottles of Aquafina water left in the room daily by the maids. Buffet was excellent. You will need your room key to use the elevators to access your floor level to your room. The only drawback about Sheraton is the price of doing your laundry. It is better just to buy new clothes over there. I thought that charging five U.S. dollars for a pair of jeans is a little high. Besides the laundry prices, everything else was great. When we go back next year, we will stay at the Sheraton again.
Top Local Tips for Ho Chi Minh
Cyclo drivers Definitely ake a cycle driver for a neighborhood tour such as Chinatown - not for real transportation. The sidewalks are very crowded and the streets are a zoo. The cyclo ride is nice and slow, you can look at things at the same pace as walking without all the hassle of getting bumped and worrying about traffic.
Sheraton Limousine service When you book a hotel room at the Sheraton, book their Mercedes to pick you up as well, if you want a quick check in. I was told that they usually prepare everything in advance if you book this service.
Spa Try the spa at the Sheraton - it's very inexpensive compared to other hotel in Asia - great way to help recover from jetlag or a long day sightseeing.
