Taxis Be wary of being fast talked (especially coming out of the airport), bring a pocket calculator, and always insist on using the meter.

So many choices Le Bourdeux - obviously French and very nice food, service is perhaps overly attentive and can be a little overwhelming at first. They are aiming at fine dining and the food pretty well lives up to this - esp.the chocolate souffle (best bit is at the bottom). Ladies are presented with the menu without the prices listed while the men get the full menu. Although expensive for Vietnam, this place is very well priced by Aust standards and has some decent wine available. Pho 24 fantastic, cheap and quick. Good morning Vietnam is part of a chain but good if you are craving some western food. Highlands coffee isn't bad if like us you have one person wanting Vietnamese food and the other wanting western food. Quan An Ngon is great - lots of choice of authentic vietnamese food and very cheap almost like eating street food but with the confidence that it is clean and won't upset your tummy.

Lido Bar on the 1st floor Don't bother unless you like loud music in the typical asian style, although one love band was quite good in some translations. Drinks are at average Western prices, but service and attentiveness of staff is fabulous.
