Top Local Tips for Ho Chi Minh

Tet Festival We (accidentally) went during the Lunar New Year festival (mid Feb 2007) and found it an amazing time to be in Ho CHi Minh. Displays, flowers, costumes and many many happy people on the streets made the city very exciting.

Always metered make sure the taxis are always using meters when you jump in! Especially when you arrive at the airport. There may be unmetered taxi drivers who may try and persuade you to go with them but DON'T! Go where there's metered taxis.. ALWAYS!

Just watch out for the currency, Markets Just be careful of currency. If you get the money mixed up and hand over too much taxi drivers may think your giving them a tip. Also, try to get to markets early so you can miss all the crowds.
