Top Local Tips for Ho Chi Minh

Vietnam's infamous problem for tourist pedestrians: How Do I Cross the Road? You have to get used to crossing roads with streams of motorcycles and cars/trucks. It is like crossing any stream: the vehicles will weave around and dodge YOU, as long as you maintain a constant pace when walking. They all drive at a constant (slow) pace, and if you walk at a constant pace too, everyone can guesstimate everyone else's position on the road. By the time the motorcycle approaches You, the Pedestrian, the motorcyclist will know whether to drive infront of you, or behind you, based on your position and pace of walking some seconds ago. It is not hard; the motorists do not want to hit pedestrians. But pedestrians must always stay alert and watchful when crossing. Pedestrians cannot cross roads with a nonchalant sense of entitlement. On the road, all vehicles and pedestrians morph into one giant moving object. It is like a delicately balanced choreograph.

Shopping Things in the big mall is almost the same price as the market as they also consist of small lot traders. In the market u would have more choice but if confort is what u want head for the mall.
