I loved this hotel! The staff was wonderful, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was perfect. I read a few of the reviews prior to staying at the hotel, and some state that the location wasn't ideal or close to anything. Well, if you enjoy walking, and exploring what this area has to offer, this is perfect! That is exactly what we did. The short walks to the major happenings was what really made this trip enjoyable. When we were done sightseeing, or just enjoying the "festive" atmosphere, we walked back to our quiet hotel and got the rest we needed for the next day of exploring. The staff was great, one of the desk agents even helped us find a great place to eat.. We will definitely be staying here again.

Do not stay at this hotel! We stayed here for two nights and weren't very satisfied. This hotel did not look anything like the photos online or as described in Tripadvisor, Travel Library or Asiarooms. This hotel is close to being a scam. Via email we received a confirmation for a quiet recently renovated room with bathtub in bathroom and balcony (deluxe room) but we never received room as was booking. Bathroom had no bathtub or bath area and dirty towels were on. The room had dirty blankets and no balcony. If you care for yourself, do not stay at this hotel. Just be on your toes, and only stay here if you can't find something better.

I personally had a wonderful stay, the staff were extremely efficient, polite and friendly at all levels ...I think the only thing I could say it is wonderful , I would have spent more money with you if I could order drinks easily .... But all of your staff were wonderful ...all trained , and obviously enjoy their work with you ...it made such a pleasure to stay ... travel wallets

What makes this hotel so great are the people. From the bellhop to the desk clerks. Everyone could not have been nicer or more helpful. It is within walking distance of almost everything. The rooms are big (except the bathrooms). The beds are VERY comfortable and the hotel is quiet. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. We stayed 6 nights and would go back if we visit Hanoi again. We stay in many hotels during the year for leisure travel. I don't usually write a review but this hotel certainly deserves credit for their outstanding service.

This hotel is in a good location, but rooms, bathroom and facilities is bad and not clean. Sad to say, the hotel room's condition is not as good as what I expected it to be. The bed comforter doesn't seems clean at all with quite a number of yellow stains. Towels are a big problem too, giving you the impression they did not change or washing. Bathroom is dirty! TV is small and can't watch.
Everything's bad. Come back again? never!!!

This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at. It is run professionally, the staff are very welcoming and helpful! Our room was absolutely gorgeous, with views out to city centre. A fantastic, relaxing stay. Thanks so much to the staff. We hope we can find some other hotels in Europe that are even half as good as yours.

A year later, and I just found the hotel business card and decided to see what others thought of the place. Rooms were clean, staff was excellent. I will stay there again this year. I am really anxious to stay there again this trip!!

Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Shopping For shopping (mainly women) go to the big church and walk around there for loads of good shops and restaurants. For tours and food and general info go to Kangarro cafe. I don't normally like these themed places but they were really awesome and i would advise anyone to go there.

Caution Unecessary to reserve in advance, though no cancellation policies exist in most hotels, managers will demand payment even if they do not provide what has been promised or advertised. Additionally and generally, reservations mean nothing. Most hotels will give up rooms to the first customer who requests it, reservation or not. Your best bet is to choose a few hotels and go to each one to check availability. Lastly, do not feel that you cannot bargain a room rate. We found that depending on nationality, appearance and availability, room rates will vary. One final note on taxis, use of dollars and getting change back. Most taxi drivers will try to negotiate a fixed priced in USD for a trip. However, unless traveling far, using the meter will usually get you the better deal - unless they decide to take a long, circuitous route (which happened several times). If you use USD to pay for items, you lose out on correct change. If you do no not have small bills, you lose change.

Crazy taxi Be careful when calling the taxi, it is better to ask the hotel calling for you. Local taxi drivers can not speak English and always charge you much more by taking you around.
