I had one week at the Old Street Hotel from 31 Mar 4 Apr 2008 with my Thai G/friend . This was our first trip to Hanoi,we were both very happy with everything from location to staff etc, etc .. Not a worry as far as we're concerned!!!

I found my room to be a decent size, very clean and nicely furnished with a decent bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was also very quite given it's excellent location in the heart of the Old Quarter Street. I thought it was excellent value for money and will stay here again if I return to Hanoi .

Booked Old Street Hotel after good reviews and were not disappointed. Nice hotel, centre location which close to Hoan Kiem lake, night maket, restaurant, coffee shop, bar. Tommy and staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and modern, fruits/drinks are alwayss available for free. There are 2 pc's for guest use in the lobby, so you can keep up with email and plan any further travel. Tommy can book taxi's for day trips out of Hanoi, so no need to book anything before you arrive, and will advise on local restaurants and things to do. A great place to stay.

Manager of this place is exeptionally friendly. We wanted to visit a site outside Hanoi and he brought us and picked us up just for a little fee.
Arranged a Halong Bay trip at a time that fitted us better than the time of the bokking agency.
Really helpful.
Rooms are basic but clean and very authentic.
We found it a great place to stay and good value for money.

Nice hotel with good location, very convinient to do everything: shopping, have meals, entertaintment. Staff is very friendly and helful with warmly welcome. Surely I will come back.

You are treated like family the moment you arrive. You will get as much or as little attention as you like. All you have to do is ask and you will get whatever you need, whenever you need it. The service exceeded all of my expectations.

The rooms were comfortable with full fascilities. Also, the location is ideal as it sits right smack in the middle of Old Quarter Street.

Overall, it was the best stay I have ever had anywhere in the world. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

My partner & I stayed at in January 2007. We both really enjoyed our stay here, and would rate it excellent. Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities.

The rooms were large and well equiped. In the bedroom area we had a T.V., we had 2 large beds , queen sized i think! which were very comfortable.There was also a study area with a desk and telephone with internet connection, athough internet access was free in the lobby area! The bathroom was clean and had the most powerful shower ever! It was amazing, and always plenty of hot water whatever the time of day. The maids came everyday and always did a good job, towels were in abundance and changed everyday. There is a good air con system.

Reception staff were always very helpful and friendly and would offer advice if asked. There was lots of local information and leaflets available.
Breakfast in the hotel was good for being free and very helpful staff who greeted you warmly every morning!
I thought this hotel was great, and we would reccommend it great value for money and definitely great service here.

Ended up staying at this hotel for a night but will definitely stay there again next time I'm through Hanoi. I found the room to be very nice and clean. The staff was most helpful and friendly. This hotel was one of the most reasonable in it's class and location and probably the nicest. I will stay here again.

Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Arrange taxi airport 1 day before. I stayed here in Lunar New Year, it was very difficult to call a taxi, you had to wait more than 1 hour. I had a mistake that I did not arrange a taxi one day before and luckily a boss used his friend's car to took us to airport at the last minute. If not, I had been missed my flight.

Hanoi is a fantastic city! Great walking city! Go see Uncle Ho in the mauseoleum, check out the Women's Museum when it's rehab is finished, enjoy the Temple of Literature. Check out the offerings at CraftLink shops, eat cha co (fish in tumeric and dill sauce), and hang out by the beautiful lake.
