Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Sofitel Metropole Based on the recommendations on tripadvisor and friends, we booked our first-ever trip to Hanoi at the Sofitel Metropole. Great location - we walked to the lake, the Old Quarter (for shopping), puppet theatre, St. Joseph's Cathedral, etc and took short cab rides to the Ho Chih Min mausoleum/house/Pres'l Palace, Temple of Literature and the Prison Museum. Good service and a very pleasant room - a bit like The Oriental in Bangkok.
