Loa Cai to Hanoi arrival times From Loa Cai (Sapa) check your train arrival time into Hanoi, and plan what you want to do from 4.54am until Hanoi comes alive for the day! We got caught out expecting to arrive at 6.00am. Hanoi is very dark, very quiet and very closed up,even around 6am as we found out in a taxi with a rapidly roatating meter back to our previous hotel to see if we could sit in their lobby for a couple of hours. Being "very closed up" we went to the 5 star Metropole Hotel and for U$15 each had the most wonderful buffet breakfast, tea and coffee. Thank you for being open and looking after us! An alternative is to sit it out at the station - the quiet part is in the large booking hall to the left of the entrance . And left luggage doesn't open until 7am.
