Sweating. Take Sweat bands. You are forever mopping your brow and feeling sticky. Easy to pack and one of those little things that you say " i'll bring those next time".

Buy in Vietnam Dont stock up on lots of non prescription first aid products such as laxatives, stomach bug medicines, deodorants and panadols etc if you are staying in big places like Hanoi or Ho chi minh. There are plenty of pharmacies aroung and youll pay a tenth of the price for them. I stocked up on some of these when i let vietnam and saved a heap of cah.

Taxi Meter Scams I am sure this is not news, but be very careful with the taxi company used in Hanoi to get around the city. Many of the companies have rigged meters that count more distance than you actually travel. We took taxis a number of times and had one experience where we took an untested/unrecommended company and were charged for about twice the distance we actually traveled. The taxi had a lower rate per kilometer than other companies (9,000 dong/km), but the distance counter on the meter would jump two tenths at the same time. Watch for this in any taxi and insist upon getting out if you see this happening. Look for Hanoi Taxis (company) as we took those multiple times and had no problems. Otherwise, ask around in town about other companies that should be okay, and watch that meter.
