Something fishy?

Do not expect the photos and descriptions on the internet of this hostel to match the hostel in reality. Same address but rooms we saw totally different. Staff were very pushy about taking tours (not only experienced by us but also other guests). The 'enormous breakfast ' was a banana in a breadroll with a coffee. Rooms were clean but for $20 US a night for two there are much better deals around. Something fishy going on here. We certainly felt decieved and happily left for elsewhere .

The staff at this family run hostel organised everything for us including tours, flights and accommodation. They always went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time in Hanoi.

This hostel was right in the middle of the Old Quarter so it was right near lots of shops, restaurants and bars. The staff was very helpful with organising all of our tours out of Hanoi as well as further accomodation, flights and trains.

Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Halong bay Take a trip out to Halong Bay and stay on a boat/kayak

Red mask bar Nice bar with a pool table

not good hotel When we arrived the staff gave us a key and pointed up stairs, they gave us no information what so ever! walked up three very steep flights of stairs (not recommended for anyone with walking problems) to our room which was very small, had no window, dirty bed sheets, incomplete room and generally very dingy. Other problems included: the breakfast, no choice, butter was listed as an option. Very rude and unhelpful staff. Paper thin walls in the rooms meant you could hear the staff in the lobby all night shouting and screaming. Days 5 & 6 of our stay we had a power cut both nights that lasted for several hours the staff did nothing. on day 6 we were using the free internet (the only good thing about the hotel until it broke!)then the staff decided to start having a huge argument screaming and shouting at each other in front of us. If you do choose this hotel, be quiet as you go down the stairs in the morning as most of the staff are sleeping on the floor in the lobby. Would not recommend to anyone as you can find much cheaper and better value for money hotels in Hanoi
