Rooms where good and the staff helpful. I booked two tours through the hotel, one to Sapa and one to Hulong Bay. Both tours were good value with the boats and accommodation very good. I had an open ticket to come back from Cat Ba island and Sapa and I found this an easy way to get around.

David and Rose - thank you for organizing the amazing trips to Halong Bay and Sapa, caring for us very well, feeding us with bananas and coffee, washing our dirty clothes and always being helpful and having an open ear for our questions (problems).

A-Z Queen Hotel in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarters provide comfort and ease in the midst of bustling capitol of Vietnam. We enjoy the stay, the hospitality and the human side of this hotel as well as the city. The trip to Halong Bay is a MUST. Coffee is splendid!!

I am very happy with the service of the hotel staff who are really friendly. The tour packages that were recommended were customized to our budget and needs and timing and we really enjoy every moment of it. Located in the Old Quarter also enables easy access to shopping and entertainment locations. Really a great stay!

David and Rose were extremely helpful and informative in planning our trips outside of Hanoi. The hotel is in a great location, central to just about everything from shopping, to eating, to beer. The rooms are a generous size and the free water in the in-room fridge is a huge plus. We highly recommend staying with them. David is also very helpful through email correspondence if you should have any questions before your trip.

Hanoi Queen Hotel is value for money! Our family of five rented the deluxe family room from Apr 14 '07 and it was spacious and clean. The crew are all nice and professional. Location is great too! You can pretty much walk everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and even to strangers

Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Halong bay Take a trip out to Halong Bay and stay on a boat/kayak

Red mask bar Nice bar with a pool table

not good hotel When we arrived the staff gave us a key and pointed up stairs, they gave us no information what so ever! walked up three very steep flights of stairs (not recommended for anyone with walking problems) to our room which was very small, had no window, dirty bed sheets, incomplete room and generally very dingy. Other problems included: the breakfast, no choice, butter was listed as an option. Very rude and unhelpful staff. Paper thin walls in the rooms meant you could hear the staff in the lobby all night shouting and screaming. Days 5 & 6 of our stay we had a power cut both nights that lasted for several hours the staff did nothing. on day 6 we were using the free internet (the only good thing about the hotel until it broke!)then the staff decided to start having a huge argument screaming and shouting at each other in front of us. If you do choose this hotel, be quiet as you go down the stairs in the morning as most of the staff are sleeping on the floor in the lobby. Would not recommend to anyone as you can find much cheaper and better value for money hotels in Hanoi
