Hanoi Lucky Hotel certainly met our needs. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were spacious and pleasantly decorated. The best feature of the hotel was its location. The hotel is central to the French and Old Quarters, 3 minutes walk to the lake with many restaurants nearby. The hotel looked after our luggage while we visited Sapa and Halong Bay. Upon return the hotel allowed us to shower before a flight home free of charge. The breakfasts were quite ordinary but adequate. We would most probably stay there again.
I love staying with Hanoi Lucky Hotel , because of its best services and hospitality

This was our first stop on a two weeks Business in Vietnam. The location is ideal. Right in the middle of the Old Quarter.

The room was clean when we arrived and was cleaned up everyday (I was there for four nights). Every floor had a computer in it with internet access! And breakfast was included every morning downstairs. They offered me 10 minutes international and local phone call for free, which is so helpful for my business work.

But the real charm of this place is the customer service.Hoang, the hotel manager, totally hooked us up. He was great as was his staff.

I did not have the rest of my trip lined up yet and he sat down with me and found out where, in general, I wanted to go and what I wanted to see and how long I would be in Vietnam.

Then over the next day or so, he booked everything for me directly including hotels, flights, ground transportation, and a cruise in Ha Long Bay. After I left, he even checked in on me when I was in the next town to make sure that everything was okay. And then, believe or not, he called the hotel several days later to let me know that my flight later that day had been delayed. Incredible.

Thanks Hoang! I highly highly reccomend this hotel in Hanoi!

Top Local Tips for Hanoi

Seafood The road sides stalls provides live seafood for cooking. I enjoyed the clams boiled in soup and steam crab best. However the standards defer from stall to stall. On the whole, it is very fresh and taaty with the special dipping sauce.

It's not mist, it's smoke! Be prepared for smokers everywhere, including hotel lobbies and rooms, restuarnts, cafes, bars, vehicles, etc. There is no law regulating it. Also, it is a noisy place. There are 2 million motorcycles in the city. This might surprise those who, like me, visited 15 years previously.
