Scams- they cheated us for the taxi cost and Halong Bay. When we complaint about the situation the guys at lobby burst in to laugh. The room was so small and dirty and the breakfast was so poor with jam and butter only.

This was the first time I came to Vietnam. I looked through many hotels and last of all I stayed in PHUDO hotel. It was so impressive - the cleaness and comfortable room. The staff were so friendly here, they showed me all beautiful places to visit with the enthusiastic attitude. They helped me book the trip to Halong bay and Sapa. I came back and stayed for 2 more nights before I went to Hue. It's easy to get to Dong Xuan night market and Hoan kiem lake with the good location of PHUDO hotel.

We enjoyed our stay very much, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. As it was our honeymoon we enjoyed so much at HALONG BAY that the tour operator in phudo organized for me. Good hotel indeed that I want to recommend.

We stayed in the Hanoi PhuDo hotel in August on our trip through Vietnam. I cannot say enough about this place. After a 10 hour flight followed by a 45 minutes drive from airport. I thought nothing could make us feel human again. After 2 days of serenity in the hotel we wished we could stay longer. It has all been said already but the rooms are beautifully furnished, lots of extra touches, such as soft drinks and water, lovely big comfortable bed, gorgeous bathbus and views is a wonderful host. I would be there now. If you are going to Hanoi, Vietnam, this should be your first choice.

Our family had a very good time in this hotel. There were four of us and we booked 2 adjoining double rooms. Except for the initial mix up on the adjoining rooms when we got to our floor, everything went without a hitch. Our rooms and bathrooms were big and comfortable, and were equipped with all the standard room amenities and toiletries (hair dryer, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, combs, sewing kits, etc). . I've been to many hotels in different parts of the world, but I've never stayed in one that the helpful staff like this . I'd definitely give this hotel a green light if a friend asks my recommendation

We are group of business man from Ho Chi Minh City and we come to Hanoi for our business conference. The PhuDo hotel were recommended by friend. We stay for 7 nights with 6 deluxe rooms. Great stay at the Phudo

My brother lives is Hanoi and made travel arrangements for my father and myself for a 3 week stay. The staff were very helpful in storing our luggage when we went on side trips for a few days. Our room were always ready upon our return. The air conditioning was a welcome ammenity after a long day of sightseeing during the hot and humid days of September.The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location allowed us to walk to many places which gave us a good feel for the city. the staff was very friendly and answered oru many questions with great patience. I would stay at this hotel on a return trip to Hanoi.

Little Gem In A Great Location

I booked this hotel at the airport in Hanoi. I was thrilled with the location and the service at the Phudo Hotel. The staff were really helpful and friendly and arranged for a private city tour with two local guides (Pink and Thien who were both awesome). I used the hotel for all available services including laundry and internet and even the free breakfast and all were beyond my expectations. I would definately stay in this hotel again. You can't go wrong with this place.

This is my 1st time to Vietnam, Hanoi. I am staying in is at PhuDo Hotel. The staffs there are very helpful and friendly. It give me a feeling of going back home.

I believe I will stay at the same hotel again if I will be back to Hanoi.

This Hotel is good location,so I can go anywhere without any difficulty. Also, I really felt safety for Woman, even the night. About the staff, they are friendly,kindly,warmly welcome......ect. As the price, 15$ for one night is reasonable, the room is clean,calm,with fully equipments....I want to tell more and more but my English is limited..Pls visit in some Japanese Website to see my Reviews... Thanks.

Stayed in Dec 2006.breakfast serving should be improved.good location, old quarter, walking distance to the Hoan Kiem lake, shopping area.room very clean.bathroom clean and well maintained.air-condition good.Staff very friendly and helpful.Tour operator available at lobby.Internet ADSL using for 24 hours.Good value for the money.Will stay again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful always willing to book trips for you. The tour agency there was very good and provided lots of useful advice, however we could have booked the trips cheaper just down the down the road direct from the tour operators.

The room we stayed in was adequate, good air con unit etc etc, however all the paintwork could do with a lick of paint! What do you want for the $25.

Overall if you are looking for a good place to stay on a budget then this is it!

I booked this Hotel largely on the basis of good reviews on this site. I was very disappointed with the hotel. It was about US$20 a night and for this or a bit more you can do much better in Hanoi.
It was quite old, poorly maintained, pushy staff.
Breakfast was dreadful.
On the plus side (and the only one) is it is well located, in the centre of the old quarter.
Hanoi is a great city, and the poor quality of this hotel didn't put me off. We stayed one night, checked out, and got a far better hotel down the road for just $5 more a night.

I just come back from our trip for Viet Nam and China, Everything's more than I expected!!!! I stayed in Fortuan Hotel in HaNoi, Viet Nam for 02 nights as my booking and 03 nights more!! All in funny and happy!!!The most things I interesting like as good location,friendly staff,good services,helpfull information desk,clean room....ect. In addition,I booked the tours to HALONG BAY, SAPA, Train to Beijing,Air ticket back, Hotel booking.....Everything's excellent!!!!Alternatively, I strongly happy to recommend all tourists to HANOI for holiday and business!!!

This hotel is very centrally located, within easy walking distance of major sites as well as markets, shops and restaurants.

The hotel is clean and comfortable.

The staff are exceptionally helpful, professional and are happy to arrange travel and make other arrangements for you at reasonable prices. They look after you very well during your stay at the Fortuan.

It is very good value for money.

I spent a week at this hotel and had an excellent stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable and booking quality tours was easy. The best thing about the hotel were the staff who were all extremely efficient and friendly. Staff also spoke very good English so helpfull advise was easy to obtain. I would recommend the Fortuan Hotel to anyone planning on staying in Hanoi!
