The location is beautiful. Suites are large, comprises of bedroom, sitting room with seperate kitchenette. Bathroom small but adequate. Only two restaurants here with limited menu, but what they do is good. Lots of other restaurants nearby. Drinks at hotel can be a bit expensive.
The best bit about the hotel is the staff. They are the most friendly and obliging people I have met. If you want a really relaxed holiday and don't want to get dressed up every night this is the place.

The Allamanda is the cheapest Laguna option. Accomodation is comfortable enough, although not 5 star! The good aspect for us is the separate living and sleeping areas and kitchenette. At breakfast we can get up when we are ready and sit on the balcony with a coffee and toast and do our own thing, rather than having to get ready to go out of the room for a big buffet which we eat because we paid for it, then regret ;) ... and it's nice to relax with a sundowner in the comfort of your own living area before going out for a night on the town.
Garden view rooms are cheaper but fine with us because they are quieter and more private.

Top Local Tips for Phuket

Time to Go. We were there in end of February which I think was getting too hot. We were told end of October to end of January was a good time if you don't want to be scorched. Tempertures were 42 degrees on two of the 5 days we were there...too hot for Irish people!!!! It was meant to be a chill our time for us as we had done two and half weeks of the cultural Thailand before this.

Johnny Waler Classic If you like to watch golf tournaments then when we were in The Allamanda the Johnny Walker Classic was on. Many of the Pro's were staying in our hotel and there was a free shuttle bus to Blue Canyon Golf Club, where the event was held,for them and any hotel guests if there was any room on the coach. We went on the first day and the coach takes you right into the golf club and you get in for free, so don't buy a ticket, just ride in with the pro's.
