Very relaxing...why come home?
from Pigeon25This hotel's services are inevitably pricey (i.e. same as in the West) but well worth it. I prefered to eat in Hua Hin as value money and quality is brilliant.
There is currently constrcution work in the daytime next to the regency club, but if you are round the pool all day it really would not affect you.
Very Noisy Construction Work
from SamWalkerIf you want to get a good sleep, try to get a standard room on the other side of the hotel.
Very Relaxing Stay
from Toe-KneeWe found the room to be comfortable and clean, minimalist in style. The bathroom was fine. Although not the biggest room it was more than sufficient and the balcony was great. I would not recommend the rooms on the ground floor as they did seem dark.
We hardly left the Regency pool which was very quiet and relaxing, must have read 4 books there. Food was good but Hua Hin is so much cheaper to eat in and so close that it would be foolish to eat in the hotel all the time.
I found the staff to be very helpful and charming, although we never had a problem or asked for much so I cannot vouch for them when problems arise.
Used the Gym most days, it is small but never busy and has everything you would need.
Overall I would use the hotel again.

from bobglenGood Pool, Really Bad Service
from HengjaiThe hotel is quite good in terms of it being a resort with a very very good pool and water slide. The rooms are indeed very simple and small. Would definately not rate it a 5 star rather a 3-4 star resort. The only good service you get are from the pool boys or the pool side restaurant staff. As for the hotel being tired, well, it really depends, I find it to be Ok but during my stay, parts of the outer walls were being painted. As for the spa, one advice, "STEER CLEAR". It was definately not proffesional and not in a good setting. The price was very costly for the treatments both my fiancee and I had. If you are wanting to go for spa treatments, I advice you take a taxi to Mandara spa. If you are just after a massage, head out to the beach and turn left out of the hotel and voila, 50 meters away there is thai massage on the beach to be had for 200baht for an hour compared to the 1800baht in the hotel. The sad part is, the one on the beach was actually better!!
Food in the hotel were very expensive and drinks cost too much. Never forget to add in the 17.7% of taxes onto the prices in the menu. The hotel is situated quite a distance from town but there is a hourly shuttle service that the hotel provides for 50baht per person each way. If you have a group of more than 3, I suggest a tuk tuk or taxi which costs 100-150 baht each way.
The hotel is very big and understaffed. I called up 20mins prior to checkout for a porter and he never came. As I was worried I may miss my flight to bangkok, I had to carry my own luggage all the way to the taxi which was a long way.
Overall a pretty average resort, the only plus is its pool grounds, dont expect too much in terms of service as only a few staff are service-orientated. If you are planning a trip there and would like to know more, feel free to email me at Hengjai@hotmail.com and I would be happy to share a few photos of the hotel grounds and rooms etc.
4 star Resort only
from AsiaLoversFirst they gave a room not in the Regency wing, after 3 days we got moved. First suite (simply 2 rooms put together) was dark with no view. We didn't like it. The other suite (exactly the same) had a nice view on the Regency club lounge and pool. This was already much better. But it took a meeting with the front desk manager to get it changed. We then stayed another 5 nights.
Rooms are indeed very simple. Very clean but certainly not 5 star rating. This is a 4 star resort. Very lightly built hotel you hear noise from everywhere when inside your room. Rooms are very small as described by another user and we were happy to be in a suite. Furniture is old and odd. Beware the size of the room described on their side include large balconies which amputate the real inhabitable size of the rooms. In our case 88m2 total, in reality the suite was about 55m2. Bedroom without bathroom only 20m2.
The food is 4 star as well, sometimes even 3. Better to eat outside, take a taxi to Hua Hin, excellent sea food everywhere.
The only 5 star thing in this hotel is the pool: this is the best pool in Hua Hin. And it is important as the sea was on Jellyfish alert and therefore it was not recommended to use it. (BTW why can't the hotels install nets in the water like in Australia to create a Jellyfish free zone). The pool is big, has a river, a big slide, a small sand beach for very smal kids. Just perfect.
Service: 3-4 star: staff was very smiling but service in the Regency lounge was below average. At breakfast or at cocktail you had to request things yourself several times. At the buffet idem, always something missing and you had to ask for it and wait quite a long time to get it.
In conclusion the Regency Executive Suite cost the same as a bigger better suite at The Peninsula in bangkok. Therefore this hotel is a bit overpriced for the quality and service it has to offer. New resorts are being built in Hua Hin you might want to wait for them to go there. We visited Hilton & Sofitel, very nice buildings but very small land plot/pool/beach. But inside Hua Hin town so convenient for evening stroll).

Horrible experience!
from A TripAdvisor MemberVery Good hotel
from rosehavenThe hotel is beautifully landscaped and the only thing they missed was the swim-up-bar! , we have 2 sons aged 8 and 6, who had a great time, the water slide was a real bonus, and they enjoyed the pools, and the' lazy river' as they called it!
The pool boys were very attentive, and good fun.
We found the room very comfortable and upto date in style( can't understand previous comment of tired and needs updating?), pleased to find a good supply of complimentary, bottled drinking water in the room as well as HBO on the tv.
Most lunch times we ate at the pool bar, menu for lunch was a mixture of european and thai food, which was very good, cocktails were good too.
service was on whole o.k.
We ate at the Thai resteraunt on one occasion, on a Saturday night as they have thai dancers, a pleasent and civilised experience.
On the whole dining in the hotel is quite expensive, but the whole thing about holidaying in Thailand is to go out and experience the wonderful food on offer, and there is certainly lots on offer in Hua Hin!
My only negative comment is that the reception staff, did not give you the warm thai smile and customer service that we had experienced in our BKK hotel, but on summing up this was a beautiful hotel!
How did this one ever get its rating
from goodyearNot a hotel I would put on my hot list. How this ever got its star rating I cannot imagine when you look at hotels in Bangkok of the quality of the
Peninsula that cost so very few dollars more.
Top Local Tips for Hua Hin
What to do and where to go in Hua Hin Spend your days exploring local fishing villages and small, deserted beaches. Even in peak season, we found places that were wonderful and practically empty. Local fisherman will take you out to the islands, and you can even feed the monkeys at Monkey Island. Spend the evenings at the Night Market in Hua Hin, where the seafood is outrageously good and we liked the shopping much more than in Bangkok. To get around, contact the HuaHin Information Point (local tourist association).

If you need something... Fitness equipments are great. Not crowded facilities at the hotel. -- If you are to shop, there are a little shopping mall between the downtown Hua-Hin and the hotel with Starbucks and all you would need not offered by the local markets and the night market.
