Top Local Tips for Bangkok

Try the canal ferries The canal ferries go on the major canals and have stops every here and there. It is quite an adventure to take them, but definitiely something you will remember afterwards! It only costed 10 bahts per person for us for a long trip. Don't hesitate to ask other travellers for help if you are lost. They were very helpful to us!

Skytrain/Riverboat I definitely recommend purchasing a Skytrain ticket - get an all day pass for 120bht. I paid a little over $3 and found myself riding the skytrain all day. I took it to the Siam Mall, a visit to the Jim Thompson house, over to the river...it was very convenient and a price well paid. Also recommend to get a river boat ticket that you can use all day to go up and down the river. I paid 100bht (although I've heard from locals they pay 70bht) to visit localities up and down the river. This was extremely convenient. I ventured to Chinatown and had an awesome time...you can travel from about 9 am until 7:30 pm at night. Its abslutely the best way to see Bangkok.
