Grab a taxi at curbside and pay the meter Don't get hustled by the 'airport taxi' touts. As quickly as possible, walk to the curb where there is a sign 'Taxi'. Tell the dispatcher where to go and get into the taxi. Once in the taxi, the driver may offer a 'fixed price', e.g., THB 500 for the trip including Expressway charges. Don't accept but insist on the meter. You will save about THB 150-200 doing so.

For Budget traveller's, solo travellers, backpackers Try Soi Kasem San 1, just ask the taxi to take you to Mahboonkroong or MBK (inexpensive meals) and walk across the street, there is a row of small guesthouses and hotels that are clean and comfortable, quiet and friendly. Siam Square shopping area, No Nightlife in this area but close enough for a cheap taxi fare. Rooms 400-600 Baht.
