My second visit and certainly my last. Hotel staff lacks real personality. Not always helpful. Price of room was raised although I booked by internet special price guarantee. Room looked old and unattended. Food was good for breakfast but dinner and room service overpriced. Attempted credit card scam( they charge certain amount at check in and don't inform you of this/ I asked twice at check in are you charging me now. Twice I got answer no but later check by credit card company proved they did) and nasty letter by hotel manager after I did not authorize further payment by credit card. The famous smile returned when I paid cash. Also some mongers there , poorly dressed but treated like kings. This hotel should reconsider their policy. Especially the farang manager who spends most of his time talking Thai is a complete failure.
Sorry Landmark a big big disappointment. Next time I stay Marriot or Majestic Grande again.

Hotel was very clean and room facilities good especially the bath room. The reception was well maned although laking in personality. The English Bar is a pick up joint for the local Thai women not for British women.
It was ok

We stayed here last October paying full price for 3 adults my husband and I and our 14 yr old son we booked a suite they cramped a camp bed into the lounge area and our room was located on a smoking floor even though we had asked for non smoking at time of booking so we had the joy of smelling cigarette ends every tiem we exited the lift. Our room was noisey with a water cooled air conditioner rattling away outside our window. The jacuzi on the roof I can report is the dirtiest I have not had the pleasure of using. I use many hotels on business and for pleasure we are returning to Bangkok this October but the Landmark is not on the itinary. They need to decide on a target audience of business or holiday I would say this is not a holiday hotel. There were some interesting places to eat within the hotel. The reception staff have attitude and were never very helpful which I found strange as the Thai people as so friendly. It was hand for the skytrain.

Good but not worth the money!

I recently spent 2 nights at the Landmark. We chose the Landmark because we wanted to try some real luxury and because of it's location on Sukumvit Road. We have been to Bangkok many times before - most often staying in the Amari Watergate.

We chose upgraded lifestyle rooms, the rooms were ok - but they seemed to be smaller and not as well furnished and laid out as the Amari Watergate.

The cocktail hour was great - service was very good, the nibbles delicious and the cocktails were of a really high standard.

Breakfast was good - I was especially greatful that room service was free.

The location was excellent.

Overall I though that the hotel was good although it couldn't hold a candle to the Amari Watergare in terms of quality (despite being double the price!). Service was good but you'd expect that in any 4* hotel in Thailand. My advice would be to stay at the Amari Watergate and make use of the cheap taxi's.

Very smart

I booked the special weekend deal (direct from their website). Amazing value - 26th floor, wonderful views, free laundry, free cocktails and food, exclusive access to the lounge, etc. all for 90 dollars. Very highly recommended. The hotel offered fantastic service and I felt like a princess whilst staying there. What is more, I accidentally left some lost property there. They found it, and kept it for me. A very special place to stay. The location is good too - just seconds away from Nana Skytrain. However, the road is rather smelly, but that is the same for most of Bangkok!

I and my GF stayed here for four nights, it is a luxury hotel, the staff and very polite. We stayed in a deluxe room, this was amazing. Pool area was clean and well looked after. If we ever went back to Bangkok, we would stay at the Landmark without a shadow of a doubt.

fantastic hotel

My wife and i stayed here recently fof 3 nights, and we were not disappointed. the staff are so polite and friendly, food excellent but costly. Location is great just 3 mins walk to sky train which is very cheap and handy to avoid traffic. It was the perfect start to our holiday in Thailand.

I paid $90 and got a fabulous room with double bath, walk in shower, lots of extras including nice toiletries, free breakfast in the exec lounge, free tea/coffee/water/juice/pastries, free hors d'oeuvres + cocktails in the exec lounge.
lovely service, GREAT location right next to the bst which is fab for getting around due to the traffic jams.....

great location

My husband and I were in Bangkok for 6 nights and was very happy with this hotel and the location. You can walk everywhere and get anything at all hours of the night. Guest service was great. I am impressed with their gym and we used it often. The bakery in the hotel was wonderful, got to try it. Cheap. The landmark has a thai bank branch with ATM in it. (In case you need to take out cash.) Starbuck Coffee is right across the street which was nice for us. You can walk right to the NANA sky train station which was about 3min walk to the right of the hotel.

lovely hotel

stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymon at the start of june. people can not do enough for you from you arrive until departure, the rooms are modern and clean and the hotel itself in an excellent location only a few yards from nana skytrain and alot of decent restaurants eg cabbages and condoms 4 or 5 blocks to the right of the hotel. The huntsman very nice bar on the basement and the band are very good, we would not hesitate to stay here when we go back.

Service with a smile!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Landmark in Nov 04. The hotel is a very nice hotel with nice fittings and a good service. Obviously, it is quite 'commercial' like a lot of hotels in Bangkok. The room was a typical 4-5* room with mini bar and a few snacks etc. Conveniently located for the metro, station about 3 mins walk away. Yes, there is a seedy'ish area around the corner from the hotel, but unless you looked you would not find it. To be honest, my girlfriend and I checked it out anyway just to see what was going on.....why go to Bangkok and not see what all the fuss is about? The breakfast was quite expensive for Bangkok. Staff were friendly. For those from the UK, I can only describe this hotel as any slightly upmarket hotel in London for instance, quite impersonal but run efficiently. Would probably say the Landmark in London is very similar. Would recommend if you wanted a place to stop off at while en-route to Phuket....2 or 3 days in Bangkok is enough for anyone! One thing I would definately do while in Bangkok, is take the day trip to Bridge over the River Kwai, a long but unmissable day out from Bangkok.

Top Local Tips for Bangkok

River trip Take a trip on a rice boat up the river and through the canals where you will see a completely different side to Bangkok.

the only way to travel plan your excursions around the skytrain or subway, both are very clean, cheap and efficient and are air conditioned - it is the best way to get around Bangkok.

Wackey races! Be very careful crossing busy roads.
