The location is quite decent and there are alot of things to be done at night around this place, so I quite like it. Overall the service and staff etc. was quite good for the price we paid. Possibly a few more staff additions to the hotel would be a good choice.
A few touts and tuk tuks around the area when you get out of the hotel.
1. Must visit the river cruise just near the hotel.
2. Sirocoo bar at night near the hotel too.
3.Must visit Excelsior Tailors for tailor made clothes. They're located opposite Tawana at the siamheritage.
Many pesky tailors near the area, avoid them and go to Excelsior they can give you quality at reasonable price.

Part of our package, this 2* to 3* hotel is nothing fancy but servicable. Almost opposite to the infamous night market street, it is at an ideal location which is also lively. A long block away from the skytrain station and another block to the subway, one can get around this gridlocked city relatively quickly. Good morning buffet breakfast.

Half day Thai cooking class at the Oriental Hotel There is a half day Thai cooking class at the Oriental every morning at 9am. It's small and very special - with a demo of each of the 4 dishes and then your chance to recreate each dish. It's very fun and the teacher speaks great English - you learn about ingredients and culture as well as food. It costs about $175, and you get to each the lunch you created afterwards. You also receive a goodie bag with a certificate of attendance, an apron and a number of spices. It finishes before 1pm so if you have a half day to kill it's a great way to amuse yourself! There is an email address for information and to reserve a spot on the hotel's website.
