Good Hotel, Excellent Location

I travel to BKK with business and have stayed near this hotel in 5* hotels costing twice as much with service not as good. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting BKK on holiday or business.

I had an executive 1 bedroom apartment which was a good size and had everything you need for a comfortable stay with the exception of cooking utensils (pots, pans etc). I'd like to see some included as everything else is.

For the business people the wifi works great and was reasonably quick and very reliable in the room.

The breakfast could have a bit more variety but is still very good and eating out is not a problem in this area.

The pool is small and only gets the sun till lunch time. The gym is great and has everything you need.

Depending what your after on an evening BKK has it all and it can all be easily reached from this hotel.

I'll be returning very soon!

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) stayed at the Adelphi Suites during our visit to Bangkok in early February 2008. I second all positive comments on the premises. The experience for us was very pleasant. Everything appeared to work as it should, from communication with the booking staff (I booked the room directly from the hotel web site) where all inquiries were replied promptly and accurately, to welcome drink at arrival (nice touch) and new and well-kept facilities. The location was, as all the other reviewers stated, a real plus. If you travel with young children, the short walk to sky train was a blessing. Short enough to maintain your cool (from all the are-we -there-yet nagging) but long enough to offer some entertaining sight-seeings along the way. We did notice a number of massage palors and bars with girls sitting outside, but there was no overt solicitation and the kids did not pay any heeds to them. At the hotel, the staff was very helpful and courteous. We stayed in a one-bedroom which has 2 flat screens, and the kids loved it (of course). The suites have washer/dryer so you dont have to pack lots of clothes. Nice! We do, however, have a couple of gripes. First, the housekeeping staff. Although we comment them on their attitude -- very nice and punctual -- they did not seem to clean the room well enough. We noticed the floor got a bit sticky by the evening. Or maybe it was the humidity? Second, as another reviewer noted, the pool on 16th floor was in the shades from other tall buildings and therefore was really cold. It's a pity coz it was a nice pool, albeit a very small one, with great views. And lastly, the breakfast was good the first 2 days but you get bored real quickly as it does not offer variety and stay the same. So if you stay for an extended time, you may want to check out other places for breakfast. Plenty of cheap restaurants around. I would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone visting BKK, provided they do not jack up the rate (we paid $100 all inclusive, a bit pricey but a good value IMHO).

Really nice new place

Stayed initially for two nights in the executive suite. As I usually want to keep my options (and they are so many in BKK) open. Immediately liked the feel of this new place, everything working fine, clean and bright rooms; very nice and helpful staff. On top of that you get a really competitive price, we booked directly through their website - no hidden extras. As we liked the place so much we extended for another two nights, same rate no hassle. It seems they are getting quite popular so advance booking is a must now. The pool, though small, is a nice place to relax after a workout in their well equipped gym. The location couldn't b better, with the Nana Skytrain station just a short walk away. Overall a great experience, will be back.

Excellent Place to Stay

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights in January and indeed loved it.
Before our stay in Bangkok at Adelphi Suites (AS) we went over to Koh Chang, we arrived into BKK the early hours of the monring and I had called ahead form the airport to AS and asked if it was possible to store one of our bags while we were in koh Chang for 5 days before returning to stay at Adelphi Suites, kindly they said yes.
On arrival for check we were greeted with friendly smiles from all the staff and offered cold tea and a nice cold cloth while checking in.
We were upgreaded to a deluxe suite as I had requested a studio room with a king bed and they had none avalible due to been fully booked.
Our room was very spacious, clean, and with modern facilities.
breakfast was pleasent, held in the hotel restaurant, you have a choice of a cooked breakfast or a selection of cereals, fresh fruit and bread.
The hotel is located on a quiet soi, with a seven eleven pretty much next door with is great. The BTS station is a 2-3 min walk, very handy.
All in all I would reccommend this hotel to everyone, the staff we friendly and helpful. I will definately stay here again on my next visit to Bangkok.

Great Location

Great location as its next to the Sky Train without any noise or disturbance from the trains or Sukhumvit traffic. Would certainly recommend this place for any traveller in Bangkok. As usual there is the issue of staff having to improve their English as they have to deal with higher guests traffic in due time.

As with other hotels, when its popularity increases so has the rates, wanted to book this for my family in the near future but found the rates higher...

I recently stayed at this new property for two weeks in Jan. Being in the travel field I worked directly with the property for my stay. I had a one bedroom apartment. There were good issues and bad issues. First of all the property is new, and the airport transport they wanted 1200 baht for the transport which is about four times what a taxi costs and about 400 - 500 baht over what other properties in BKK charge for airport transport. The internet is free... for now. The bathroom was nice with the rain shower system but the cabinets in the bathroom had no shelves at all. Two medicine cabinets but no shelves to put anything. The kitchen was nice but there was no pots or knives or cooking utensils like in other properties in BKK. Turns out you have to ask for anything you need. The door to the apartment was terrible to push open and I can see older people having a terrible time just getting into the room as the doors were too heavy (room 910). There was no tissue at all around the room so we had to move a roll of toilet paper out into the living room which was pretty poor when guests came over. The pool on the 16 floor is tiny and cold and caused an ear infection in both of us so I'm not sure if it is treated properly. We never get infections from other pools in BKK. Our couch was stained already and it was not comfortable in the least bit. The bathtub is a climb to get into and out of it and there is no safety rail to hold / help you in and out which is dangerous IMHO. Part of the time we were there one of the two elevators was taken out of service. And it is right on a street full of working girls which is not the best location for everyone. Oh and the washing machine would not work fully.

The good... well the staff was nice. The hotel is right near a BTS station which was nice. It had a cordless phone which most properties do not include. The housekeeping staff was EXCELLENT very helpful and always nice. Will I stay there again, I'm not sure I like Somerset Suwan Park a lot however I think I would like to check out this companies other properties like legacy and such on soi 22. I might, I know I am coming back in a month or so so I might return but overall for a new hotel it did not live up to my expectations but maybe i am just spoiled by other properties in Asia.

Regarding to the airport transfer, we are using the same limousine company that most of luxury hotels are using in Bangkok and we are charging our guest almost the same price as them which is 1200 Baht. And for the swimming pool, I would like to assure you that the water is treated every day. As for the door, our hotel is just open 3 months ago. So they still have small touch to catch up. And for the elevator, it was been checking for our guest safety by officers.

Nice rooms, staff and location

This hotel is great value for the money.

The room is very nice, the staff is extremly friendly and the location is good (a few minutes walk from the Sky Train). The best is the price, which is very low compared to what you get.

We stayed at the Adelphi with 4 friends and we all loved it! Was fantastic right from the beginning - great transfer organised (nice van) Staff were fantastic from the beginning, if they couldnt understand you at all they sure tried or got someone else to help.
Very polite at all times and nothing was to much trouble.
Rooms were great - nice and spacious and the shower was amazing! Location was convenient nice and close to tuk tuk, markets, nana train station, and a fantastic massage parlour only a few shops up!
Breakfast was nice - simple but very tasty! One of the best we had in our whole trip.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone, you couldnt be more comfortable and price just topped it all off - for a studio approx Aus $80 per night!
Would love to thank the staff for making us feel so comfortable and welcome!

Excellent deal

Brand new hotel at a great deal. We got a one bedroom suite for just over $100. Very clean, quiet, modern and with lots of great amenities. Great complimentary breakfast. Rooms sold out quickly. A great deal because not many people know about this new hotel. Great location - Bangkok is really spread out but there's great transportation near the hotel. Very safe. Great staff.

Best value accommodation in Bangkok!

I stayed at Adelphi Suites during my recent trip to Bangkok from 23 to 27 Dec 2007. There are several factors which make me vote it the best value accommodation in Bangkok. First, the location was excellent. It was a very short walk from the BTS station (Nana). Yet it was situated just slightly off the main road. So it was not as noisy and buzzling as other hotels which are near BTS stations. Secondly, it was very new and nice, from its lobby to internet kiosks (24hr free for hotel guests) to the room. The room which I stayed (508) was very spacious and clean, with two single beds, kitchenette, writing desks and lounge area. Of course you could find such good accommodation elsewhere but it is hard to find a similar standard property with the extremely attractive rate which I paid (THB2,300 per night). Besides, its friendly and polite staff also made the stay an enjoyable one. The only area which I thought it could improve on was the food quality and the service standard of its cafe (Rojo) which guests have breakfast. However, it is not a big deal when you compare the price you pay with the quality accommodation you get. This little hidden jewel is so good that I was tempted to keep it a secret to myself! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who goes to Bangkok, whether for leisure or business, especially families.

Top Local Tips for Bangkok

Koh Kret This is an island in the middle of the river. Inhabited by Mon People you will find lots of traditional desserts and Thai foods as well as Mon arts & crafts. There are also boat trips around the island where you can see thai houses on stilts, etc. Time to visit is on sundays where there are boats directly from the central pier to the island. Other days are a bit more complicated. Also, not so many vendors and shops open on weekdays

Don't trust the locals on the street! Unfortunately, most of the taxis/tuktuks, and even hotel security may mislead you. We talked to 6 different people as we tried to get to the Royal Palace, that all misled us! "Its closed today." "You can't go in wearing shorts." "Its a Buddha day today and its closed." All lies! Our tuktuk driver even took us to the wrong place (supposed to go to the Royal palace...he dropped us off at another Wat." Being novice travellers, we didn't know he took us to the wrong place! My suggestion is to do your research before travelling, bring a guide book, and talk to your hotel front desk for advice.

Get out of BKK for a quick get away to ChonBuri Head to ES-TA-TE, you stay at Khao Kheow Open Zoo and sleep in a tent. Get a private tour of the zoo in a cart, feed the animals directly yourself, excellent meals, night safari, etc... All a quick trip away form BKK. Excellent way to get out of the city for a day.
