Loved this place - the rain crashed down outside and I cuddled before a blazing fire in a nook off the main entry. Old English-esque. Lovely and friendly interior and staff, great old paintings and photographs on the walls. Very clean. Really awesome. Would absolutely return!

It's a wonderful place to spend a day or 2 @ St Andrews. Room condition is good and specially having a very friendly service, even for Local visitors. (Some hotels don't do this ).

Shantipura/Lake Gregory Hire a tuk-tuk to go round nearby Lake Gregory and up to Shantipura, the highest village in Sri Lanka. Outstanding views from the viewpoint.
Can be cold Nuwara Eliya can be very cold, even when the rest of the country is hot. Nights can be chilly and you are advised to bring a jacket and hat unless travelling during the very hottest time of year (Feb.)
High Mountain Teas Buy from the growers. The packaging is not the prettiest but the tea quality is superb and fresh.
