Look for Seoul beneath the surface Seoul isn't the most aesthetically wonderful city on earth--they've been busy ramping up their economy, and not too concerned about beauty. Beneath the surface, however, it's a wonderful place with very, very interesting palaces and a stream down the center of the city covered by centuries old bridges. The Samsung Leung museum may hold the most exquisite pottery on earth, and there are places to shop for pottery that have pictures of Queen Elizabeth II on the walls, with prices to match. Korea is cold in winter -- in summer you can explore the countryside. And in 2009 the new bridge from Incheon airport to the city of Incheon is scheduled to be completed, and a gleaming modern city will be constructed in the Songdo section of Incheon. Right now, it's the largest construction project on earth.
