Some things never change... Taxi drivers do not speak English and even when given maps in Korean, get lost. I have been coming to Seoul for about 15 years, and invariably the cab driver gets lost, speeds, or drivers will not pick up passengers unless they are going where drivers want to go. Got stranded at Namdaemun night market the other night and finally had to ask a police officer to help me to get a cab, which he did. i had the hotel card but nonetheless the driver took me to the wrong hotel and I had to guide HIM to the correct hotel (they are located in the same complex, so I knew how to do it but could not believe he could not find a major hotel at the Trade Center complex). I am sorry to say that there are also a lot of bad manners exhibited when one is trying to get a cab - saw two women carrying babies on their backs refused cab services - and this was after 1 am. If Korea is going to be a developed country, manners should improve!
