Taxis are the way to go. As there is very little English around Seoul, the underground (subway) is, although the cheapest option, quite difficult to navigate. It was about 50p for a one way ticket to anywhere. Taxis are very very cheap, maybe a couple of pounds for a long trip. Drivers can know English but there is an interpretor service available, I saw (though I was travelling with my Korean friend so I did not use it). The food is also very very cheap and plentiful. I ate some great grilled meat and had all I could possibly eat for about 3.50 pounds. Clothes are also cheap and the department stores are open until 3am!! The discounts start at about 11pm so that is when the savvy shoppers go. Very good food and fantastic people. I am counting the days til I go next.
