i didnt see any bugs or anything, but when i woke up the next day, i had scrath marks on my legs, then i found somewhat 3 - 6 bugs in my bed... it has been biting me while i slept... i will change to some other hotel immediatly

As someone who travels for a living I stay in plenty of hotels around the world - this one has to be THE WORST. The rooms are filthy and infested and the staff couldn't care less. I'm sure that the cure for the common cold or HIV could be found amongst the dirt on the floor and the mould on the Walls.

Do yourself a favour and steer clear.

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We were stuck there as we had paid in advance. I wish I'd read the reviews before we booked. I had to go and buy a can of disinfectant before I would set foot in the bathroom. The place was disgusting.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. It is every bit as bad as other reviewers say. I booked online direct from their website, as I only had a couple of days notice to find a place to stay. The rooms are disgusting, the management uncaring and I am still trying to identify the creature which ran across my room - it was either a very large cockroach or a rather small rat. I repeat, do NOT go there. For S$69 a double, I am positive you could do much better.

I stayed there for a day and ran away to another from 2nd day. Rooms are smelly, no windows at all for ventilation. Never try this hotel.

Do not trust the nice photos, don't go to Tekka Hotel. We paid for two nights, but after the first night we moved to another hotel, because it was terrible. The rooms have no window and many other problems.

I stayed here for 1 weeks (as I had no options), and found this was most stinky place ever seen or smelled. Only 1 or 2 staffs are good natured, but rest are rude.

Top Local Tips for Singapore

Great Hotel I'd recommend the York Hotel for your stay in Singapore. I booked my room a few months before my stay and got the "early bird special" and the price was reasonable. Then, upon arrival, they had upgraded me to a suite with no extra charges. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the room was clean and well decorated. One thing I enjoyed was the deep bathtub where I soaked after doing a lot of walking all day. The air conditioning made the room comfortable after being out in the hot sun with humidity. I needed laundry/dry cleaning service which was easily provided with quality. The walk from the hotel was an easy 5 minutes to the hub of Orchard Ave. and the shopping areas. The York is on Mt. Elizabeth Rd. After walking the 5 minutes I was also at a stop for the MRT--mass rapid transit system, and the buses. I came back to the hotel at 11 pm, and was still only a 5 minute walk from my room at the York. I felt very safe walking from the station to the hotel. It was a great experience

Getting Around Singapore A beautiful, modern & clean city. English is the common language spoken and used in signage. But unless you like taking local busses, plan on using taxis most everywhere. They are fairly inexpensive and the mass transit system is not easily accessable. Fastest way tto & from airport. As there are shopping malls everywhere, it seemed that the national pasttime is shopping! Prices seem similar or more than the US dollar for many things. At the famous Raffles' Long Bar, one Singapore Sling and one beer totaled $40 US!
