Make travelling on the metro and buses easy If you are staying for a few days and want to use the MRT (metro) and main bus sevices to get around the tourist spots buy an Ez-link card at one of the information booths at the MRT (metro) stations. You top up the card with dollars and this means you don't have to find the correct fare for each journey. Just scan the card as you enter the bus/station and scan it as you leave the bus/station. You can cash in any remaining credit on the card at the stations before you leave. Feel like a local while you watch the tourists scratching around for the correct fare!

Th Hop On/Hop Off Bus This is a great way to get about the city. If you have used Singapore Airlines to get there you are able to get a discount on the bus by showing your plane boarding card to the driver before buying you ticket. It lasts all day and you can get on and off as many times as you like. It travels in a clockwise direction around the city, and you are informed at every stop what the attractions are that can be viewed from there. it probably takes about 45mins/one hour to do the full circuit and is quite useful just to get your bearings before deciding what you would like to see. As it is air-conditioned, and comfortable it is also a great respite from the sun, and a place to rest weary legs for a while before setting off once again!
