Lanson Place was a joy right in the heart of Singapore, and an ideal place for a base. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we will be staying again when we return.

Top Local Tips for Singapore

Great food, terrific shopping, highly over-rated tourist attractions! Singapore's a great place. But some of the tourist attractions are highly over-rated and very expensive. Trust me - the night safari can be avoided! See the zoo instead next door and go back home in the evening! The Botanical Gardens are amazing, Jurong Bird Park is great, so also Sentosa (again all attractions here are expensive). Songs of the Sea at Sentosa is not to be missed! The famed duck tour is good, but for a family of 4 its costs US$ 102 for a 30-minute ride. Haw Par Villa is also a must, but it is shut now for some renovation. You're better off just walking around Singapore and seeing the sights and enjoying the food and shopping. Also go to Clarke Quay for a lovely atmosphere of fun and food.
