Be patient and plan ahead For Singapore in general, private cars are few, and renting is expensive, so public transpo is a must. For our short stay, we had to use Taxis, but be warned... at around 11pm in China Town, it took us an hour to get a cab. The bus stop for Bus 61 heading east is in front of Furama Centre, but the stop across from Furama Centre IS NOT for Bus 61 heading west (we couldn't find it). And if you're on Sentosa, trying to get an available cab is very difficult. There are times when cab's will not stop for you even if they have no passengers. They are "On Call", but really just cruising waiting for people to call the cab company by phone to order a cab. This way, they get to charge an extra $2.50.

Hulia restuarant Spent our last night at the Hulia resturant next to the Orchid gardens. A great evening, food different and tastie. Service outstanding, without being stuffy.
